I think Dallas is a better team, I don't think we're that far away.

They have been rebuilding for years, we have the 2nd youngest team in the league.

There are bound to be ups and downs all season, this particular down is alright IMO because I saw things to be excited about in that game last night and felt that they lost fair and square.

Can't wait for next Sunday!

Thank you Zero2Cool and Packnic. Cooler heads prevail. .

What do you mean cooler heads prevail? I don't recall anyone in this thread saying the season is over, or we should fire McCarthy, or anything like that. We have a good team. We will bounce back.

All I said is that IMO we got dominated by the Cowboys. You disagree. Thats fine. But I take offense to the "cooler heads prevail" comment.

Dropsies, dropsies. Jordy Nelson dropped more than one pass he should have caught. Could Aaron have kept them a little lower? Sure he could, but the rule is that if it hits your hands, you better damn well catch it. No QB puts the ball in the perfect stop every time, that's why these folks are supposed to be professional football-catchers.

I've watched the game twice now and don't recall a single drop by Nelson. Are you referring to those high, hard passes that he was barely able to get a finger on, let alone catch? The only drop I can remember was by James Jones, on the first play of the game. It was a low throw, but it should've been caught.

I'm happy to defer to your view -- I only watched it once @ real time, so I certainly didn't have the view you have. I am talking about the high hard passes, but at least as I saw it as it played out, I thought he got his hands on a couple of them. Certainly not saying they were great passes, but I would have liked him to bring one of them down, at least.

Mind you, I was working hard to be critical -- overall, I think Jordy's been great so far. I think the bigger issue was having Ruvel out and losing JJ -- threw our gameplan into safe mode, it seemed.

Thanks for your reply. I really don't consider either of those passes to have been catchable. Maybe if he was more of a leaper, but even then, he probably would not have had time to jump because they were on him so fast. I agree that we need JJ and the Rooster back at full strength soon. At least Nelson is getting some good experience. I would like to see if he can go over the middle. So far he's just working the sidelines.

Breaking News

Dallas beat the Packers last year.

I think people tend to overreact when you lose to a team that is considered your rival. That's pretty much what Dallas is. Our biggest non divisonal rival. They beat the Packers.

So....

Did you think Aaron Rodgers was going to go unbeaten for his entire career? Did you think that this Packer team was?

I'm not really shocked. I was hoping for a win but top to bottom we have trouble matching up with Dallas and playing our style of football.

I certainly think GB could beat Dallas but i also think that as of now Dallas and New York have established themselves as the teams to beat in the NFC. GB and a few others are kind of the next in line. That doesn't mean all is lost but it does mean that the Packers have worked to do. They did at this time last year and they got it done for the most part. We'll see what happens this year.
