Desmond Bishop: Facing Rodgers part of motivation for joining Vikes

Now that he's officially a member of the Vikings, linebacker Desmond Bishop will face his former teammates from Green Bay at least twice during the 2013 season. During an appearance on the NFL Network Tuesday, Bishop said that was part of the reason why he decided to make the move from Wisconsin to Minnesota. He's

I NEVER wish success to players leaving the Packers - either voluntarily or otherwise hahahaha. However, I predict Bishop - if he is anything other than seriously damaged goods - will have success, especially in the 4 - 3 - which I consider a better defense in general, and especially better for somebody like Bishop who is closer to a classic old-time middle linebacker.

I think his biggest problem may be staying healthy enough to make it to week 8 to have his first shot at playing against Rodgers...

Just force him into coverage. He can't cover our RB's or TE's. If I'm McCarthy I call plays that get the ball to receivers in his zone or his man. He won't be on the field long if they do that.

The headlines stated the obvious today: Desmond Bishop said part of the reason he signed with the Minnesota Vikings was to extract some semblance of blood — to get a shot at Aaron Rodgers. Now that's a revelation
