didnt this game remind anyone of the giants game last year?

Not at all. It wasn't dark or cold out. We actually ran the ball fairly well and we ran it more than what 12 times? lol

I don't see it, sorry man.

NOT AT ALL! I don't feel as sick or depressed.

I really don't think we are at full strength either. Not to make excuses but we didn't have all our pieces. We played a game of chess with less pieces.

I am shocked at how many did not read fully the post or the headline.

The headline was made in jest. It was an attention getter. (marketing background here!)

My point was that in the past the Favre bashers (led by Cal "Rodgers is so superior and won't make the same stupid mistakes" packfan) would pin any loss on Favre's late game int's when he was trying to make something happen. It is easy to go back to the past posts stating how Favre cost us a shot at the Superbowl even though we couldnt stop javobs in crucual situations and Buress beat Harris like a rented mule all day, plus grant was non existent.

However, after leading us from behind twice, the loss was pinned on favre.

Today, Aaron was a stud. I can't even imagine throwing around a football with a strained shoulder. The INT was a poor decision at a crucial time. we had five minutes and two time outs left. plenty of time to get another shot at least tying the game with a field goal. Instead, he threw it into triple coverage (the guy was covered better than Favre at a retirement anouncement). Poor decision, poor execution.

With the interception, they were assured of at least a field goal forcing us to now go the length of the field. that was the consequence of the poor decision.

My point of this whole post is let's not look for just one aspect or person to blame for the loss. Everyone was part of the cause. Just as it was in the past.

Couldn't stop the run
got burned one on one
crucial drive killing penalties
and on and on.....

Now, hopefully.....you see the point I was making.

Weird, that's what I got from your post in the first place. But your reaction to the 'reminds me of the giants' game through me for a helluva loop.

Sorry about that. I'm a little touchy with all this Favre against Rodgers stuff.

How? No reasonable person put the loss on Favre. That game was also ... umm ... kind of huge! It was a NFC Championship game, not the fifth game of the season.

Why stretch to compare situations with Rodgers and Favre?

I just ... I guess I don't see it. I'm trying to so I can understand, but ... its not relevant to compare a NFC Championship game with the 5th game of the regular season when the games were played differently.

I don't see why it has to be LOVE Favre and HATE Rodgers or HATE Favre and LOVE Rodgers.

18 year veteran vs 4th year veteran.... sure... there's a good debate.

And there is no hate Rodgers. Simply let's see the forest through the trees. It is a team win and a team loss. Everyone took part. it's not a debate, just hoping to get people to look at the whole picture.

The Favre-Rodgers comparisons are inevitable. They were going to happen when Favre was retired. They were exacerbated because when the opportunity presented itself to have Favre back, our front office chose to go with Rodgers. The only way this wasn't going to be an issue was if Rodgers played well and GB cruised again. This is a story that pretty much writes itself, so we're going to be hearing it every week from the studio and game commentators.

Rodgers played his guts out today. At the very least he should get some respect for going out there time after time with a bummed shoulder and making things happen. Rodgers was actually very Favre like today. He played through the pain and did everything possible to win the game.

Like Favre, however, he did make a mistake, but this mistake didn't cost the Packers the game.

The overrated defense did.

Bottom line, yes the game is played to win. However in the Giants game we stopped running the ball. Against the Falcons, I don't feel we did thus the game was played (scheme wise) differently.

I believe in my summary about the game I indicated more than one aspect as to why we lost the game. I also don't believe I've ever put the blame solely on one player because well, how is that possible? There's 11 guys on the field for your team at all times.

Rodgers deserves no blame. He made one mistake in which he forced a pass on 3rd and 20. At that point we NEEDED a first down and that's to the offensive line we were put in a hole. There are only so many plays he could do there. Either big play down field, INC pass or INT. Nothing you can do about that. Oh and I forgot he threw 3 TD;'s and over 300 yards. Any way you spin this you can't blame Rodgers. Unless you want him to throw 4-5 TD's in a game instead of 3...

"Rios39" wrote:

Um, it was like almost 5 mins left in the game from what I remember. I don't think you "NEEDED a first down". That makes no sense. Sorry.

"RedSoxExcel" wrote:

Your posts have 0 credability when you don't take into account TD's and Passing Rating.

Seriously the D allowed 174 yards of rushing

hey rios are you related to Cal cuz you sure sound like him ? btw Rodgers would like it if you took your lips off his butt
Get a clue man.
