hahahaha in that case, I guess there is no kernel of wisdom. WHY would Romo not be known if he played in Jacksonville - or some other small market like oh, let's see, Green Bay maybe? Granted, he ain't Aaron Rodgers, but the small market doesn't seem to do any harm to Russell Wilson who's no better and playing in a small market or Ben Roethlisberger or Joe Flacco or Tom Brady or Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck, all of whom play in pretty small markets. And I believe there were some pretty well known QBs back in the 60s and 70s too, which I don't really need to name.

Romo is not a top four QB, but for sure, he ranks somewhere between 5th and 10th.

And the main point was and is, TED THOMPSON HAS DONE A SHITTY JOB AS GM.

The 5th-10th best QB's come and go all the time. Aaron may be in a small market but he is an extra ordinary QB as is Brady and Manning, Peyton that is. Over time people will more or less forget the Flacco's, Rothenberger's and Wilsons. Romo falls into that same group. He is nobody special. When he is put out to pasture there will be 3 others who can take his place.

I would take Uncle Teddy in a heart beat over Jerry the Clown. And Romo is an average QB who plays for a major market team in the age of passing dominance due to NFL rules revisions.

If Romo played in Jacksonville or in the 60-70's no one who even know who he is.

How can dallas have a good defensive line when we all watched our supposedly complete shit offensive line dominate them. Not to mention that our shitty team beat their team without Rodgers and they had a healthy Romo.

WPR that is a very bad exmple because what qb would look good in jacksonville? Also the only qb I believe that would be known back in the 60's and 70's I believe would be Big Ben or Peyton Manning. Ben because of his size would be able to handle the hits back then, you know before they made the qb position a pussy position. And I think Manning would be known because he calls his own plays now like they did back then.

The better QBs, like Rodgers have shown they can play in a small market and have a large audience/appeal. They can play with a poor OL and still succeed. But chose KC, Tampa, Cleveland, San Diego. Chose any small market you want. The point still remains which is if he played in for a small market team, 5 minutes after he hangs up his jock the world will have forgotten Romo. Because he played in Dallas it will take a little longer.

Four current QBs are clearly better: Rodgers, Brees. Brady, and P. Manning. I would put Romo near the top of the second tier, though: Romo, Luck, Wilson, Newton, maybe Kaepernick, Ryan, and Rivers. Did I leave anybody out?

2nd tier qbs are not elite. Circumstance has placed Romo on a larger stage than other avg to a little above average players that's all.
