I'm glad they kept three QBs, and completely agree with the decision. Keep the 53 best players, or at least the 53 POTENTIALLY best players. The Packers have a dependable backup QB in Flynn, and can continue to develop Tolzien as the future quarterback. Tolzien has an arm, but Flynn is still better at this point, imo. Tolzien could get there though, so it's best he stay on the roster for now. Let's not forget, things could always change as a few more injuries occur.

Overall, I think Flynn and Tolzien are better and more important players than Banjo/Rolle, etc. Plus, those guys are likely to stay on the practice squad. If they go elsewhere, no big loss. There will always be similar players to replace them.

I predicted Ted would trade Tolzien for a NT. Still could happen.

I guess Seattle isn't the strongest up the middle on offense, so maybe Ted wants to take his time. Does anyone think that both Boyd and Perrillo are better than say, Pickett? I don't, and that's what's weird. That's why I think Ted makes a move there. He's not going for Pickett, so maybe he's got something else in mind. Then again, maybe that's the position at which he's gonna leave the cupboards bare this year.

I think you meant DL Pennel instead of Perrillo, but I'd still say it would depend on what you're asking them to do. It's been said the Packers are going to be asking their DL to do more gap penetrating and less gap clogging... if you're JUST gap clogging Pickett's you're guy... if you're gap penetrating he's a bad option. Jolly would be a better option but neck injury might mean his NFL career is over weather he likes it or not.

I think Pittsburg has 3 NTs right now... though I don't know if they would be willing to trade or not... and Packers wouldn't be only ones looking for DL help, I think the Chargers need a NT and Cardinals need more DL help as well (probably amon others).

And teams don't like trading their good linemen that are any good unless they're having some sort of non-football problem with them... so practice squads and free agents might be the place if looking only for young guys like the Packers normally do...

If they believed he could play to the level he did two seasons ago, I'm sure he would still be with the team. They probably just don't think he offers much more than what they currently have, and will only decline. Even if the alternatives on the roster offer slightly less than Pickett might at this very moment, they should improve. I can understand that logic, IF that's their perception of Pickett's value presently.

I think Jolly would be a great addition, but I guess they don't feel that's he's healthy enough. I have no doubt he would be an integral part of the rotation, if healthy. Besides, if one more injury occurs, they can still sign Pickett or others pretty quickly. It doesn't seem like they are in high demand at the moment. Then they wouldn't necessarily lose a young player since they could place them on injured reserve.

Dom's defense was always said to be predicated on stuffing the run on early downs, butting the offense in third and long situations. Well, I don't think we're going to be stuffing the run.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
