Still expecting him to be resigned for 1-1.5 million. Unless we pick up a starting caliber ILB in FA and draft a starting quality ILB also, I don't see the team with the depth you would want at the position going into the season.

Now, we're accumulating cap space to keep RC18, BB, etc. Maybe, we'll even add somebody?

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

FAct is he was a solid throwback style player, who would have been more suited to the Lombardi era, during which time the running game was key. Never caused trouble, always showed up and did and said the right thing.

Dude would do anythng to win, except juice. Announcement from Minnesota in 3...2...

Hawk's problem in Green Bay has always been he was drafted high in a weak draft and never lived to those expectations of a #5 overall. But in that draft class... both at the time and in hindsight, it was a weak draft and he looked about as safe a pick as possible early in the draft. Back then.. it was hard to package a high pick because of the dollars it commanded.. in today's world with slotted money... it might have been easier to move down in that draft.

Class act and long time servent of the club. Restructured his deal a couple times, always put in the work, and was by all accounts a great teammate. His time had clearly come to an end and he never lived up to being a top five picks. That said, I'm appreciative of his contribution and wish him the best going forward.

He never was a "great" player, but gave his all and was a class act.
A few years ago I was at a Packer practice, and asked him to autograph a picture I had taken of him when he first became a Packer.
When he handed it back to me, I realized my marker was bad and you couldn't make out his signature very well. I asked him if he could signed it again, and he did. He was real cool about it. Most players won't give you the time of day, but he went the extra for me.
I'll always remember that.

Seriously, that's a great memory. Lots of players would be happy to sign once but to sign twice just because you didn't like the first signature. It may be not be unheard of but he did go over and above as they say.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if he came back. Late in the off season if he has no other offers and the Packers offer him a low risk deal I think he would say yes. The thing is would we really want him back. I understand leadership but even as a #4 ILB might it not be better to give the spot to a guy who could develop into something more.

Free st last!
Free at last!

All you haters are gonna have to find another target.

You will really be screwed if Jarret Bush isn't brought back.

Hawk will catch on with someone else, hopefully that teams fans Will appreciate what he brings to the table.
His time was up in Green Bay, time to move on.

The idiot who says it's one of the greatest days in Packe r history, once again shows how football ignorant he is.

Hawks first stop after retiring.....

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
