I'll be very dissapointed if Cobb and Bulaga walk.

But it looks like all FAs around the league are waiting for the negotiation period before signing.

One thing to remember is that while no one thinks we should pay a RT LT money we were all set to play him at LT until he got injured. That may play into it somewhat. If not to us maybe with some other teams.

Don't know if I posted this before or not, I know I had it written but I may have decided not to post it. If you are not paying your LT LT money you might be able to get away with giving your RT a little more. Of course if Bakhtiari keeps improving he will get his sooner or later, probably sooner as in next off season.

Ted should do whatever it takes to keep a top offensive line in front of Rodgers. I understand he can't go crazy, but Rodgers needs two quality tackles in front of him.

Compared to what a top LT gets paid we can probably get a good deal on Bulaga. Unfortunately it's still going to probably cost a lot because there aren't very many good or even decent starting tackles in the NFL and Bulaga is by far the best one on the market.

I am on the side of thinking Bulaga is more important to sign because for once, the Packers had an offensive line that played well together for almost an entire season. When was the last time we watched an offensive line play so well? Also, the depth of the offensive line. If Bulaga leaves, who takes his position? Do the Packers use a higher draft pick to get one of the tackles in the draft and start all over in growing a stable unit?

I think Bulaga will be resigned and I hope it is heavily incentive based due to his significant injury history.

I'm an OL guy.

Bulaga's a solid guy. So even though I still want Ted Thompson to be looking for someone better in the draft and free agency to start at his position, I have very little problem with overpaying him if that's what it takes to keep him.

IMO you want 7 OL guys that can come in and start several games in a row without the team losing its quarterback, and three guys who are dominant at their position. IMO the Packers still only have one of those dominant guys, though Lindley may be a second in a year or two. Bulaga isn't. The Packer OL still isn't where it needs to be.

But Bulaga when healthy *is* top 7 quality. And he's definitely better than Lang and Baktiari. Pay him.

And keep trying to find and pay one of those dominant guys to replace him or push him to take over for Lang/Baktiari.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
