Packers worked out five players

Larry Pinkard was one of five players the Packers worked out yesterday.

Per Rob Demovsky, the Packers had five players in for workouts today
QB Matt Behrendt (UW-Whitewater)
CB Brandon McGee (Miami)
WR Larry Pinkard (Old Dominion),
WR Ify Umodu (Northern Arizona)
WR Denarius Moore (Tennessee) a former 5th-round pick of the Raiders in 2011. In 51 games with Oakland, he had 142 catches, 2,169 yards, 17 TDs. Also was with Buffalo.

3 wrs seems more than coincidental.

I figure this means either the news on Montgomery is worse than we feared, the team really things the WRs suck, or probably least likely, ST help?

Even when you have a 2nd and 3rd opinion, it doesn't mean the ankle will heal faster with each additional opinion. Montgomery is still hurting so it won't matter how many doctors look at it. And it's a real bummer because since he's been out, the Packers have gone 1 - 4.

Exactly - I was skimming through threads yesterday with complaints about 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions. It's an ankle sprain, not brain surgery. It sucks, it's not like he can just play through it, but it'll just take time. Unfortunately this seems like a pretty severe one.

Pinkard was one of my TC guys.

BTW I heard Chris Harper got released. Muffed a punt. Ted signed temporarily at one point iirc.

Pinkard, Hell Yeah! They never shoulda cut him in the first place!

Whoever we might get, though, likely the Packers would just let him sit for a year or two or three. That seems to be their way at most positions, not just WR.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Ty Montgomery lands on injured reserve and they sign either WR Larry Pinkard or WR Denarius Moore.
