A few months ago I did a study of TTs tenure and I graded him 6/10. He is not bad and he is not the best. He is an average+ GM.
Thompson had a few excellent picks and a few busts.

He got Bulaga,Collins, Jordy, Cobb and Clay but he also missed badly on Harrell, Sherrod, Brohm and Perry.

He's been very very conservative with FAs but he got Woodson and Peppers.

I'm 99% sure Thompson is not the reason why we are having the season we are having. Other teams have worst talent and are doing much better. We have a dramatic problem between our HC and our MVP QB and that's it.

Still a believer in Ted. Yes, he has his flaws but so does every other GM. It would be much better if he did go and take some risks when they are needed, such as this season.

While a lot of you might not like the draft and develop style don't forget that a lot of teams, including our little ugly sister the Minnesota Vikings, are trying to emulate what the Green Bay Packers have and are doing (this has been openly said by numerous individuals in their organization).

He just needs to open his mind to free agency when it is desperately needed.

Surely not the Vikings, who have starters Mike Wallace, Mike Harris, Captain Munnerlyn, Linval Joseph, and Terrance Newman, and key backups Kenrick Ellis, Tom Johnson, and Shaun Hill that were all acquired via trade or free agency in just the past 2 years.

The Pack under Ted Thompson are FAR and AWAY the NFL leader in players who have never played for another NFL team. No other team comes close.

What free agents did you want Ted to sign this year? Which free agents would have made an impact? What trades would be realistic that wouldn't impact the draft and develop strategy of this team?

Seahawks traded a great center and a 1st round pick away for Jimmy Graham and they play better without the guy on the field. It doesn't always work out.

The Bengals for sure, Denver too (except Manning of course), Kansas City, Washington, New England, Carolina. Ooops they are all in the playoffs!

This season the FA market was weak, Thompson is not a gambler but I think this season he did well holding his chips.

Most of our Olineman played OT in college.

This season was lost when we lost Jordy. As I predicted prior to the season, we didn't have the WR depth to cover if we lost Cobb, or especially Jordy.

My only problem with Ted is he has on a few occasions, missed on opportunity where outside FA could have made a difference. We will never know if bringing I them in would result in more SB, but I think the odds are high that we would have come closer if not won more.

Jordy went down in 2nd? Preseason game, or was it the 1st?

Somebody tell me what fantastic season saver WR was available for Ted Thompson to sign.

Btw, last time I looked The Packers are scheduled to play a game next Sunday!

20 other teams are going home.

2 of our largest contracts are at receiver. He's done what he could for the position this year. The loss of Ty and Davante's general average-ness have hurt us this year. The other GMs and scouts get paid too. I don't think Ted is the best at either but I still think he is top 5 in the league.
