How this topic was started is exactly what PH should and needs to be about! Thank you and everyone else feel free to do the same!

The Packers had no dedicated WR coach last season. That should change.

IMHO we should keep Guion, Raji, Neal, and Crosby. We need better play at ILB, TE, and LT(Joe Thomas is my dream). I too think Perry will go to a 4-3 team and Heyward will get a big payday, too big for us.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

As for other teams Free agents I think

Danny Trevathan ILB from Denver might fall into our price range. He's an immediate upgrade over anything we have at this point (unless Ryan really comes on) and would provide some consistency at the position.

Derrick Johnson ILB Kansas City- He's probably on the down end of his career, but guy has a lot of intensity that would really help out our team. He's likely out of our price range though.

Matt Forte- Crazy right? If we lose Starks and really want to light a fire under Lacy's ass what about bringing a guy like Forte in to share the backfield and to be our 3rd down guy? One of the best receiving backs i've seen since Marshall Faulk and word is he's pissed at the bears...might be a match made in heaven if the price is right. Probably more of a pipe dream though sigh....

For the Draft I think our main targets need to be

OLB, ILB, WR, TE, and OT. I'd love to see a trade down into the early/mid second to increase our pick load.

Travathen is the best ILB and is going to cost too much and someone will overpay, plus he’ll cost us the 4th rounder we’re gonna get for Hayward and he said he want to play for Fox [might be a ploy to leverage a better deal]. And ya know, I just dont think he's alot better than the guys we got. I'd also place a call to Patrick Willis.

The ILBs I like are, as you suggest, D. Johnson; and also Sean Spence and Demario Davis. But, we’d have to get them for a 1yr deal close to min. so we don’t lose a comp. pick. Why would one come here for that? Spence is unproven; Davis had a bad year after 2 good ones; and Johnson is in the twilight. GB offers the best opportunity to start and contend for the Lombardi. If the youngsters have a good year then in 2017 they can look for a strong long-term deal.

I abhor vet back-ups; but Forte is a stud and blocking the development of young RBs is not as big a deal as it is for other positions. I don’t think we can get him for 2-3M unless he’s pi$$ed and I think he’s too much of a pro to let that dictate his career.

Joe Thomas will get a fair shake in camp and he’s a STs demon; I expect him to really leap next year; if he can add some bulk, he could start. On Barclay, sometimes it takes 2 years for confidence in repaired knee to return. I doubt he gets a deal elsewhere; he is a core leader-I give him a small SB, like 20-30K, and 1 year min and let him compete for swing tackle; if he doesn’t look better, jettison him.

Here's, gulp, rotoworld's. view of our offseason needs, but before that...I have always liked Joe Thomas. Not sure his ceiling is much higher than where it is right now but he's not a bad player. Gives you more than Hawk and was a UDFA vs. a 5th overall so it makes his shortcoming a little more palatable.

Green Bay Packers

Notable Free Agents: CB Casey Hayward, OLB Nick Perry, NT B.J. Raji, DE Letroy Guion, OLB Mike Neal, RB James Starks, WR James Jones, K Mason Crosby, FB John Kuhn, TE Andrew Quarless, QB Scott Tolzien, T/G Don Barclay, SS Sean Richardson

Inside Linebacker: The Packers plan to move Clay Matthews back outside, creating a void at inside linebacker that 2015 fourth-round pick Jake Ryan didn't seem ready to solve. Green Bay's next-best option is Sam Barrington, who played poorly in 2014 before suffering a year-ending foot injury in the 2015 season opener. Nate Palmer was totally ineffective in his place. This is a position at which GM Ted Thompson needs to make multiple additions.

Defensive Line: Multiple reinforcements are also needed on the defensive line, where NT B.J. Raji and DE Letroy Guion are free agents, and to this point 2013 first-round pick Datone Jones has only worked his way into a rotational role. 27-year-old (in May) LE Mike Daniels is the Packers' lone surefire building block in the trenches.

Tight End: Green Bay has lacked a seam-stretching tight end since Jermichael Finley's career-ending neck injury. Richard Rodgers is a plodder with zero run-after-catch ability, and underachiever Andrew Quarless is headed to free agency. The Packers figure to hope for improvement from within at wide receiver, where Jordy Nelson (ACL) returns, Randall Cobb is still only 25, and Jeff Janis, Jared Abbrederis, Ty Montgomery, and Davante Adams provide youthful hope. Thompson needs to find Aaron Rodgers a legitimate weapon at tight end.

Running Back: The Packers' only two running backs signed for 2016 are Eddie Lacy and John Crockett. James Starks and FB John Kuhn's contracts are up. After coach Mike McCarthy called out Lacy publicly for his conditioning after the season, expect Green Bay to bring in competition for its workhorse runner. Lacy is believed to have ballooned near 260 pounds

---Is there anyone who doesn't see we need a new TE, save for you Barfarn! 🙂

Did you notice the way Evan Silva ranked our WR's...I don't think that was an accident! JJ forever! Ha ha!

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin

Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : We're gonna just full go on to the new host.
Zero2Cool (31-Jul) : What crap. Site issues galore
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : if PH dies, there is packerpeople com available
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : database is on new host, eventually website will follow
Mucky Tundra (30-Jul) : Zero, regarding Ewers, you are correct.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Sadly, this might be our life for awhile. I could put it on another host, but seems it was slower, although more stable
beast (30-Jul) : How long will it be down?
beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
