I think he may have meant meaningless as far as the Packers are concerned but I could be wrong. Although that is not completely accurate either as it could affect who we see in the playoffs as far as seeding goes.

Chances of a first round bye for Detroit are really small.

About who we play I must say only Seattle and the Giants scare me, Detroit, Atlanta, Dallas those we can beat specially on the road as they play in a dome. Rodgers is always good in domes.

We clinch if Washington loses. If Washington ties New York (and only in this scenario), there is a route for us to lose the SOV to Tampa if Tampa wins but four other games have to go Tampa's way. If Washington wins, we have to win to get in.

If TB also wins; we're in 3 way. Wash drops out at conference record; and tie break between TB and GB starts back over.

We clinched SOVictory tie break over TB with Htn Win on Saturday.

Presently we have 61 wins; TB 59.
TB wins will be: Car x2, Atl, NO, KC, SD, SF, Seattle Chic
GB wins will be: Jax, NYG, Philly, Det, Chic(1), Minn, Htn, Seattle, Chic(2)

Atl plays NO, so TB will get 1 win
KC plays SD, so TB will get 1 win
The only other win TB can get is if SF wins;

Minn plays Chic; so GB will get 1 win

If SF wins it will be 62 to 62; but the NYG will have a tie in week 17 in this scenario, so we win 62.5 to 62.

If Wash, Loses or ties, we clinch WC.

TB is eliminated. [If Wash loses and Det loses 2, Det will have common opponents 3-2 over TB 2-3]

Interesting scenario: If Detroit loses Monday, Wash is in with a win; if Detroit wins Monday, they need GB to lose or they are eliminated. I think Wash will play harder, if they know they're in with a win. Go Lions!

[My Headache can now go away.
With The Packers being flexed to Sunday night, all we have to do is wait
Last regular season game of the year.

The NFL pundits will have it all worked out by the time The Pack and Lions kickoff.

Would be nice if Lions, Redskins and Bucs all lose their next game.
THE PACKERS DIDN'T WIN 5 IN A ROW TO BACK INTO THE PLAYOFFS!
Let the cards fall.

If Washington and New York tie and every other game goes Tampa's way, Tampa finishes with a SOV of .441 (63 wins and 1 tie) and Green Bay finishes with a SOV of .438 (62 wins and 2 ties).

Edit:

Tampa would have wins over in the scenario I pulled:

Atlanta 10-6
Carolina 6-10
San Fran 3-13
Chicago 4-12
Kansas City 12-4
Seattle 9-6-1
San Diego 5-11
New Orleans 8-8
Carolina 6-10

63-80-1

Green Bay would have wins over in the scenario I pulled:

Jacksonville 3-13
Detroit 10-6
New York 10-5-1
Chicago 4-12
Philadelphia 6-10
Houston 9-7
Seattle 9-6-1
Chicago 4-12
Minnesota 7-9

62-80-2

So if Dallas beats Philly and Det.; Indy beats Jax, Tenn beats Htn, AND SF beats Seattle, TB will beat us by .5 game if NYG tie with Wash.

    So, if Detroit wins tonight:
    -TB is eliminated;
-Detroit will finish ahead of Seattle, so if we make WC, we play Det instead of Seattle [Assuming Atl beats NO].
-Wash will not be guaranteed to be "win and in" increasing very slightly the chance they lose or tie.
-Detroit clinches WC and will not have back against wall, next Sunday, although this could take pressure off so it could boomerang.

    Go Detroit! ..... I think

If Detroit loses today then with a Tie against Detroit next week both Gb and Detroit qualify.

The only realistic scenario where Det-Dal game means something (not involving ties) is the one already mentioned: Winning this game Detroit clinches at least a WC so they will have a more relaxed week to prepare against GB and that is, I guess, good for us.
