The Packers signed ILB Tripp when Pennel's roster spot got open.
The released ILB Bradford and signed QB Callahan to the main roster a day or so later.

So I think (I don't know, just randomly guessing) some team wanted to sign Callahan off the practice squad (or MM just wanted to protect him from going anywhere else) and so he basically took Pennel's roster spot (as the ILBers sort of cross each other out).

I'm a little surprised. I thought they might bring him back for the remainder. He was pretty solid against the run which is something we need against Dallas. Not sorry to see him let go either.

The Price is right? Brian Price is a one trick pony. Stand up straight and clog the middle. No push but holds his ground. Wouldn't be surprised to see him added to the roster in favor of someone presently on it. Perhaps, Jordy, if he's done for the post season? Or Martinez?

Understood, that, right now, no roster spot is open. I thought Pennel would come in handy for this one but I guess he's booked on a cruise with the Giants WR, so he's unavailable.

This is a bit of a surprise. I didn't think he would be back next year but to release him when they still have 3 games remaining - wow.
