Preseason Week 1 : The Eagles

On August the 10th GB will play it's first Preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lambeau field . Former back-up GB QB and now Head Coach Doug Pederson will lead his Eagles onto his former home ground . It will be a game to evaluate players for both teams and does not count for the reg season record, but it's football and will be most welcome in my house .

I expect to see simple formations / plays as fundamental football will be the word of the day . I still hope to see a few highlight reel plays to spice up the game. A big run , a big pick play, a great kickoff return , etc . would be fun to see . [thumbup]

Frickin relax.

Pre-season, going to be a bunch of udfa's and rookies playing against another bunch of udfa's and rookies.
They will be running VANILLA offenses and defenses.
There is no game planning.
The coaches just want to get tape on their guys so they can get them back in the classroom and evaluate.
Any great expectations, especially for the 1st game, is not logical.

Hundley will be a star, because The Packers want to show him off for future trade offers.

Other than that....here's hoping There are no major injuries.

Preseason is a good chance to see some of the younger guys and for some of them its the only football action they will ever see. I enjoy watching them live their dream.

You are right, Brett Hundley will probably showcased quite a bit. Why risk Aaron Rodgers?

You know as well as anyone, what we see in pre-season is not in any way comparable to what is happening at practice.
I am willing to bet that on of the 5 rookie rb's will have a huge impact in a pre-season game and end up getting cut
Should I reference Jarret Bush, Jeff Janis....etc.
Bush showed well in practice, but not so well in pre-season games
More complained about him making the team year after year.
Janis just the opposite.
Great showing in pre-season games, terrible in practice.

So much is going to happen from the start of TC and opening day.
I'll let the coaches do their jobs and get amped when the final 53 come through the tunnel at Lambeau in Sept.

I'm always intrigued by the undrafted rookie(s) that find their way to make the team. I take a look at their story(ies) and see it/them as inspiration. We've got a month so it's time for me to get my life together until then.
