I find it curious that Aaron Rodgers wasn't extended this past season. Many praised the org for their cap brilliance in getting deals done with Adams and Linsley. Where's the extension for 12 and the cap brilliance of extending him before season's end?

We've had many bombshells over the last few days. Are we so certain the biggest one isn't about to drop...Aaron Rodgers wants out?

If he doesn't want out, why wasn't he extended? It would be really interesting to see another QB vs. the org situation developing.

I really don't think that Rodgers not have a deal done yet has anything to with anything. Wasn't going to happen yet anyway you slice it. Sorry

Sorry? About what? Top priority is ensuring your franchise QB is taken care of contractually, not worrying about Davante Adams and Corey Linsley.

Stafford, Carr, Luck, Brees, and JOE FLACCO are set to make more money than Aaron Rodgers next season. Aaron is the 6th highest paid in the league. You think he and his agent(s) aren't aware of this?

What the org wants is just one side of the equation... Yes, the org can do exactly what you posted. That doesn't mean Aaron is going to play along. This could become highly contentious and untenable. We've already read and seen MM's reaction to what is going on at 1265 and it is far from positive. If MM is going to leave over feeling we aren't trying to win, what do you think the guy who wants to win most on this roster is going to do? Take it lying down? 12 has taken some veiled shots in the past at the org.

I think if MM is willing to walk over Ball getting the GM for the idea we're not about winning, you can't dismiss Aaron Rodgers not wanting to be here out of hand.

There is a problem at 1265. There are those who apparently want to go for winning SuperBowls and there are those who want status quo about it continuing to be about financial stability.

My hope is if those who are about financial stability get their way it blows up in their faces, MM and 12 leave and this team goes back to the 80's bankrupting the newly built district, and a steady diet of noon games hosted by the bottom of the barrel broadcast teams and more.

It's not been about winning in Green Bay for a long long time. It's been about financial stability and don't think Aaron isn't aware his window is closing especially after another wasted year due to injury. His clock is ticking loudly and to hitch your wagon to a loser who doesn't want to win isn't something he's going to sign up for.

It's fine to pass judgement once final decisions have been made, but at this point, it's all conjecture. That might be entertaining for some and is fine for an online forum, it's a rather pointless exercise. Much of what we currently think we "know" could be very far off from the eventual reality. But it's good for the media outlets, if nothing else. Perceived controversy sells, whether it's true or not.

Didn't we already have a thread for this? Seems like a lot of new threads for threads we have already started.

Doesn't Rodgers have two years left on his current contract? So no need to worry about the guy we all know is gonna get paid.

I always thought that was pretty useless because everyone knew Ted would take care of Aaron.

Now i am not so sure.

when I find the article I will add it to this post.

Here it is look after 2017 season.

No way the team exercises it. They'll get a nice compensation package if Aaron creates another Favre situation here.

spotrac set up a "POTENTIAL OUT:" after the current year to show what might happen if said veteran player was released. Check Nelson and Cobb, they got them too.
