I think we're heard about a number of the big names, but maybe talk about some of the less hyped guys.

Giants released CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie due to salary. So he potentially could be cheaper and while he's not a long term solution, he does seem to have the size and length that the Packers seem to be looking for and he's always been fairly athletic. Though he has admitted that he's better when a coach pushes him hard and really gets on him, I think the Packers have a DB coach that can do that. Also he can plus both inside and out.

Seahawks don't sound like they're interested in resigning RB Eddie Lacy, who had a horrible year, and while Lacy has normally disliked the offseason, it sounded like he was relieved this offseason was finally hear, so he could attack his offseason work as he sounded more motivated than ever to get a great offseason in... a motivated Lacy in the offseason might be the perfect thing for him, and if a team can sign him cheap (with incentives) and put a half decent OL in front of him, he could potentially break out again, like averaging 5.2 yards per carry like he did when he was last with the Packers.

Colts RB Frank Gore has been turning out 1,000 yard seasons with a horrible OL... what could he do with a better OL, QB and offensive system? Though the downside is he's about to turn 35 at a position that normally drops off at 30... but he's a different back than any of the current RB and might be a great short term mentor.

Seahawks WR Paul Richardson and/or Redskins WR Ryan Grant... both just had big breakout seasons for their team. I'm more interested in Richardson, because I think he's more explosive, younger and he's been playing with a question OL and used to a QB scrambling around. But there is also Grant, who has trained with Devantae Adam, hasn't missed a game in his career (yet) and the last time the Packers got a Ryan Grant out of the NFC East, he turned out to be pretty good.

My eyes would be on DRC and Richardson. Price concerns me though. This is not a value-based free agency period at the moment. We may need to wait for a deal to come. Plus, patchwork players are generally the way to go.

Eddie has had all the motivation he's needed for multiple offseasons. Whether it be due to his toe, other injuries, or a lack of motivation that ship sure seems to have sailed.

I've heard Aaron Colvin's name pop up periodically as a potential CB option from the Jags.

we dont need lacy back ... we got a ton of RB options this season for a change.
not counting ty - he's a WR and please keep him that way.

I agree about keeping away from Lacy.
I really thought he was going to be a great player for us. But all the talent in the world can’t make up for a lack of motivation and a lack of desire to be a great player.
He has wasted what he had.

If our backs are as injured as they were last year, yes, Lacy should be on speed-dial, but he shouldn't be considered for an off-season acquisition. I'm saying this as one of his biggest apologists.

My favorite receivers in Free Agency are Jordan Matthews and Allen Robinson. I don't think Sammy Watkins has proved anything and unlike the other two guys I mentioned, he never did anything to make his receivers look good.

Another WR who I do think is worth a look is Brice Butler. He's been Dallas' best receiver for the last two seasons now.

BG, GB's new GM, is I believe quite aware that his Packers need players at more than one position. That said I would believe that he also is not going to give away his game plan. If he can get a FA for a reasonable cost, he may do so. Also, the draft is approaching and he may have certain players targeted.

Patience is one of the hardest of life's lessons and we will need to be patient and see what the Packer's new GM does. [smile]

Zero2Cool (2h) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (2h) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here

Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
