Packers tried -- again -- to fix their defense in offseason

Improving the defense isn't a new goal, but the Packers hope they've finally done it with several additions, including Mike Pettine as coordinator.

It is hard not to be optimistic. They could hardly get much worse than last year. Hopefully if (BIG IF) key guys like Clay and Nick can stay healthy we can really put some pressure on the QB to help out the DBs. I am hoping we can get close to a top 10 D. I think our big guys up front can get us there.

I think Kenny Clark is going to blow the line up every time he hits the field. At only 22 years old this young man has much more room to grow. He played excellent ball last year and soon it will take a double team to contain him. Thus freeing up the rest of the line.

These guys will be free to get after it. Sacks and pressures will be more even across the board. No longer will we obsess over OLBs getting all the sacks.

I'm thinking this defense is going to have a good push up the middle which will let the OLB's kind of hold their edge and pounce when the pocket gets moved outside. It should also help stop screen passes too if our OLB's are holding the edge.
