They are both decent QB's. Both have above average awareness of the field, are cerebral quarterbacks, and have had some measure of success in their first year (unfortunately, Ryan's was more team oriented and Rodgers' was more personal). Both need to develop some touch on a number of types of passes, in my opinion. I saw Ryan miss some guys on over the shoulder intermediate throws in the playoff game. Rodgers usually likes to zing it in there, but he IS capable of the finesse passes.

Ryan was never - iirc - put into a position where the game fell on his shoulders. It happened to Rodgers almost every week, and often twice a week.

I'm a fan of both, being a Packers and Boston College fan. I'd have to take Rodgers. Better arm strength, better scrambling ability, etc.. plus he has been groomed for the role and has really grown into it, as a person.

Actually, if nothing else he was in that position and succeeded in the Bears game, I think (then again, he succeeded the same way Aaron did in the second Vikings game - the difference is that his kicker made the kick).

I like Ryan a lot, and I like Rodgers a lot. Mostly because I see top-line effort and drive from both of them, in addition to the other traits you want in a starting QB. As to how they'll do, I find it laughable that anyone would even try to predict that at this point for either QB. If you say you 'know that Rodgers won't be the kind of leader who can put a team on his shoulders' or the like, I heartily invite you to explain to me just how you know that. The only thing anyone can say with any chance of being right is that, barring major injury, experience should make both of them even better as their careers progress.

The Falcons have a good young QB, as do the Packers.

That's true, he did nail that one deep sideline pass. Good call!

Matt Ryan learned the system in whay 8 weeks , Rodgers 3 years hmmmm lol. You can't compare numbers its not right the two teams have different styles of offense. Atlanta is a run first team and the Packers are pass first so of course the numbers will be different. Rodgers got handed a 13-3 team, Ryan got handed a 4-12 team and also Ryan won the rookie of the year. Now i have to ask about this little pole or whatever it was. Does Rodgers make it to the finals if he didnt have such shitty Qbs to go against lol.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

No system calls for nearly the same amount of ints on less passing attempts with a better running game, O-line and a great WR in Roddy White though. Also, Rodgers has nearly twice the TDs.

Both of these teams look nothing like they did last year. Packers D-line and O-line have performed horribly and the Falcons' have had huge upgrades at the RB position with Turner, WR position with Roddy becoming the elite receiver they wanted him to be and the O-line playing some solid football.

Now the scheme learning I can't argue with. The difference in numbers though is huge. Especially if you look at both teams at this point, and not last years....

"Rodgers got handed a 13-3 team"

Haha you have lost your mind if you think any team that gives up 380 points has a chance in hell of being considered a 13-3 team.

But they are not a 13-3 team this year, not even close. What they did in 07 isn't even relevant.

Just because a team is 4-12 or 13-3 one year, doesn't mean they are going to do the same thing next year. That's absurd.

Oh this is priceless. Who is better on the right bracket? I'm assuming your argument would be Jay Cutler, who Rodgers beats in completion %, yards per attempt, TD, INT, and doubles him in very big plays (40+ yards). And Cutler has been a starting QB in this league for 2.5 years.

You could try to make a case, but it's hardly worthy of all those "lol's" you threw into your post.

I know it pains you to hear it, but Rodgers is good.

Not to mention, Cutler is a punk.

It's sad that there are these fans who don't appreciate how cool of a QB they have playing for their team right now.

You completely ignored the point.
Would last years team have been 13-3 if they gave up 380 points?

Seriously since when does what a team does 1 year absolutely carry over to the next.
