I have been watching just a little of the tourney.

Sweden vs Netherlands match-
I was a little disappointed the the Dutch girls missed some pretty good chances late in the 2nd half. They seemed to bit sleep walking a bit then as the clock got closer to the end of regulation they seemed to turn it up a couple of notches and were making a little more contact.

It made me chuckle that players from both teams would go down after minimal contact and have the biggest look of surprise and pain while they looked for the ref to blow her whistle and award a foul. If they didn't get it their look of disbelief was kind of humorous. Once play continued, the limping magically disappeared. Oh well even the girls can exaggerate injures. (I won't call it flopping.)

There sure were a lot of blondes on the pitch. Groenen's goal was very impressive.

I must admit I was hoping for rain. Pretty decent match with some key saves by both keepers. I generally believe that there is far less flopping and faking in the women's game.

The American girls I don't think will have a problem with the Dutch in the finals. I could be wrong, the interesting thing about soccer is you can be completely outplayed and get a lucky call in the box or take advantage of your limited chances and win.

The Americans got a huge break from the VAR review yesterday. The English girl was offside but not by much.

USA women did it. Again. 😍
They defeated the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams. Plus the home team French in what many thought was a big/rowdy/competitive as the finals.

Can you imagine the sort of team the United States could field if the men who currently go into football and basketball went into soccer instead? 🤤

Despite her amazing accomplishments in this tournament, Megan Rapinoe reminds me of Admiral Holdo. I wish that were a compliment.
