Report: Mike Pettine to remain Packers defensive coordinator

I'm not sure if I'm glad or wanted someone else. Probably good he's being retained. Assuming the report is true. Build off the solid year.

Absolutely. It’s frustrating that we didnt see much, if any, up tempo offense. Thankfully LaFleur said in his press conference that he wants to get into a lot more up tempo next year. Unfortunate that it took so long for him to realize that’s what we need to do.

The defense was #9 in points allowed. I don't care how many yards the other team gets, if they don't cash in it means nothing. #6 in red zone TD defense. #7 in turnovers. They only blitzed 23% if the time and still got pressure on the QB.

There are things that need improvement but since it was the first year in this defensive system for so many players and only the 2nd year for the rest of them give Pettine a little slack. If the defense falls back next year cut him loose. If they take another step up the ladder then keep him.

I don't think it's a realization. I think it's the possibility that they didn't have one installed. I bet that's a big reason why Rodgers doesn't have as much flexibility in the LOS (because he's so used to McCarthy's system), and he took so long to get plays off.

The defense made a nice jump from year one to year two. I belive ten if the twelve starters are signed for 2020. Add one more if Kenny Clark gets re-signed.

I laugh at the Browns and teams for cutting bait on Cosching staffs before giving them a real shot. I can't demand the Packers cut bait after the guy improved.
