Per a source with knowledge of the ongoing labor negotiations between the NFL and the NFL Players Association, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has taken a much more visible and vocal role, so far. He has become a driver of the discussions, emboldened by the perception (and to a large extent reality) that Patriots owner Robert Kraft played a major role in getting the 2011 deal done, following a lockout that lasted more than four months. Jones, apparently, wants to be the one who gets the credit for getting this one hammered out.

So Jerry is in control

So Jerry has a reason to NOT get the deal done until he can tag both his QB and WR

So Jerry isn't actually willingly negotiation here yet... conflict of interests?

It's kind of annoying how much negotiating goes into this. There's no what is best for the players and for the league. It's all bargaining. Holding things over the others head dangling a carrot.

One reason I hope the NFL implodes. Selfish greedy fucktards

Billionaires vs. millionaires.
Hard to pull for either side.
Most players make more in one game then most hard working people make in a lifetime.
Most families can’t afford to take their kids to see one game live.
4 tickets, parking, and not even any snacks has priced out the average family.
Even to just go see a movie is crazy. $7 for a popcorn! Crazy.

First, I don't begrudge any of the players or owners for making the money they make. Thank God we are in a capitalistic society. The player work their balls off and are the cream of the crop talent wise. They generally sacrifice greatly. The owners invested wisely and realize there are dumb asses willing to pay way to much to view their product.

Second, in all of these discussions, why does Roger Godell get a pass on all this stuff. He stick is face in front of the camera for these moronic social media and publicity event, but when it comes to negotiating and mediating a deal, he seems to be a no-show.

Third, it is IMO far closer to imploding than we think. The empty seats tell you the woke culture, the long games, the late games, and off-the-field nonsense is having an effect. The concussion issues are not going away. Fewer and fewer youngsters are playing football....one of the straws that will break the camels back.

Fewer, more meaningful games, expanded rosters to improve quality, and more sensitivity to the wide range of demographic would helps.

What I THINK is stupid is that they don’t seem to care about the people that are actually paying for all of their outrageous paychecks, the fans.
Without the fans, the NFL would die.
Neither side seems to give a damn about US. They are pricing out the average family from going to a game. And that my friends, is sad.
If it keeps going like it’s been going, they WILL kill the “cash cow”.
And they seem to be too stupid to see it, or care about it.

People literally have to quit the NFL in all forms for the owners to feel the pinch. But the people won't give it up. It's like cocaine. People are hooked even if they can't afford to get inside the stadium.

Sure, television ratings are down, but I have to believe that's mainly because people are tuning in through other means: YouTube TV, Amazon Prime, the NFL mobile app, pirated streams, etc. And that's not even getting into all of the people who are watching online—licitly or otherwise—overseas. It wouldn't surprise me that if all those modes of consumption were accounted for, we would find that the NFL product is reaching more eyeballs than ever before—and possibly by a wide margin. It's just that not all of those viewers are "legitimate" paying customers.
