In my opinion using the 12 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to pick Rashan Gary can be compared with the draft of Tony Mandarich. Both were wasted high value picks that turned out to be large "BUST".

The coaches that are stuck with him will/are trying to put a positive face on the situation. The reality is that GM Gutekunst would loose "face" were he to release Gary and cut the teams loss on this mistake. I see one more season before Gary is finally released. In the mean time perhaps Gary can be taught to do at least 1 positive play for the team that has already carried him longer than most would.

Prepare to be skewered Smokey. Don't you know you can't declare someone a bust after one year!!!!

Guys like you and I need to be taught that it takes 3 years before that can be asserted....as likely Burks will be labeled after this year.

Ha Ha Ha

It is recognized by most that unless you are a QB, a 1st round draft pick is expected to contribute right off as a starter or as a strong relief for a starter.

Rashan Gary may possess gifted physical abilities, but he has yet to show himself to be a football player. Physical abilities alone can easily be countered by an opposing "football" player. Time will prove me right about Gary. Until he is released he will remain excess baggage that is taking up a spot that could be filled with a real football player.

Why is this in Random Babble? Seems like Packers Talk to me.

I was worried this was going to be a discussion on the benefits of a squeegee vs tissues related to some hazing ritual.

Anyways, Gary is stuck in a position where Gute picked up two major free agents. I wonder if he won't get a chance until after one of the Smith's move on. Either that or he needs to be trained for a MLB role which would seem like a strange reason to draft him for.

There is a very good reason the thread is in Random Babble.

I screwed up when creating the post.
