Here's an article from the Green Bay Press Gazette. Check out the forecast for the game at the very end. Sounds a lot like last year's game in Chicago:

Weather men

Whether he realized it or not, Bears coach Lovie Smith tweaked McCarthy in a conference call with Wisconsin reporters when asked whether the Bears would practice outdoors this week.

Of course we are, Smith said. Were going outside today. Were scraping the snow off, and thats how you play it. You play in the snow, you practice in it, right?

Not according to McCarthy, who repeatedly had to defend his refusal to practice outdoors last December and January. McCarthy has said this season hed like to practice outdoors once a week, but that hasnt happened because the frozen turf on Clarke Hinkle Field is considered a safety hazard.

Last Dec. 23 at Soldier Field, the game-time temperature was 16 degrees, with 22 mph winds later gusting to 40 mph creating a wind chill of minus-2 and helped unravel the Packers in a 35-7 Bears rout.

I hear we may even break that this week, Smith said of the weather, so were pretty pumped up about that.

As of Thursday night, a forecast on www.weather.com called for a high temperature of 12 degrees and winds reaching 16 mph on Monday in Chicago.

Bears are going to be out for blood this week after the last game against the Pack.

On a different note, heard on the radio that the Packers were the only team not to double team Plaxico Burress on defense. Does anybody know why that is?

All I know is that we did more than the score in that last game. The Chicago Bears play-by-play guys said it best. "We did not out-physical the Green Bay Packers once, not one single play in that football game."

Now, we have some injuries, and lord knows we didn't have a very good month, but I can't see what is so dramatically different this time around. I say the Green Bay Packers have plenty of firepower to put a real nice ass whipping on da Bearce once again. And just because I friggin' feel like it, I'm going to put the sign we erected in Lambeau next to the hole that got punched into the visiting team locker room wall. We may have taken it down for obvious reasons, but that doesn't negate the joy it wrought.

A little bit of touch-up work on our offensive and defensive lines this off-season...we can put the sign back up mid-season next year I figure...

Hopefully just in time for da bearce to come callin' to Lambeau. In the meantime, we are going to show Lovie duvy what happens when you start calling your single objective is to whip the Pack when WE don't have anything else to play for. Prepare to be RE-CRUSHED BEARS! It's that karma ju-ju Polargrizz keeps peddling.

I read this article earlier too, and it noted that we are practicing INDOORS!
I don't understand why this is! We are a cold weather team, preparing for a bitter cold game on Monday Night and still McCarthy refuses to go outside and practice, what a joke!

The Bears practice outside because they have a heated practice field, the Packers don't. You want to tell me what the advantages are of practicing on a frozen field that's hard as a rock?

This is why we are losing the mystic of Lambeau field, are teams are soft and don't like the cold. That used to be used as intimidation but how can you intimidate anyone when our team is huddled around the heaters.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I can understand why McCarthy does not want to take his guys outside on a frozen field. What exactly would they get accomplished other than risking getting a bunch of guys hurt?

The question is why in the world is the practice field not heated? That's what makes absolutely no sense to me.

I don't necessarily think practicing in 20 below weather with 40 mph winds is going to get you very far but I think there would be some merit for 30 minutes of work a couple of times before actually playing in that crap.

I would think you could get an idea of what footwork can be used and what doesn't work which has to be the biggest issue because with that weather the games going to be won or lost on the LOS.

I understand your point, but to answer your question, weather acclimation, we don't have that Lambeau mystique anymore, practicing indoors has made our team a bunch of softies. Football is meant to be played outside, and when your playing outside in the cold, it just makes sense to practice outside in the cold. I remember a certain team practicing outdoors for a real big game last year, while we stayed indoors, I believe that team beat us on our home turf too, in January, in Green Bay. That should never happen.

beast (19h) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (19h) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here
dfosterf (7-Aug) : to herd cats or goldfish without a bowl. They reminded me of the annual assembly of our fantasy league
dfosterf (7-Aug) : out on a field trip, outfitting them with little yellow smocks. Most of the little folk were well behaved, but several were like trying
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Yesterday my wife and I spent the afternoon on the waterfront here in Alexandria, Va. A daycare company took about 15 three/four year olds
wpr (7-Aug) : seems faster. yay
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Wife of reason posted on the in/out thread on fleaflicker that both she and vor are in

Mucky Tundra (7-Aug) : Tbh, I can never tell the difference in speed unless it's completely shitting the bed
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Sure does feel like site is more snappy
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Update: Rock has tried a cheese curd, promises it's not his last
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : watch it!! lol
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : you're right, we never did leave, the site just went down :P
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Rock claims to have never eaten a cheese curd
Zero2Cool (3-Aug) : We did not leave.
Mucky Tundra (3-Aug) : Family Night! WE ARE SO BACK!
Mucky Tundra (2-Aug) : To this day, I'm still miffed about his 4 TD game against Dallas on Thanksgiving going to waste
Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
