Can we hire Jeff Saturday, just for Sundays, to remind the play callers of common sense...

You want to talk about common sense isn’t common? Have a 17 point lead and then don’t run the football. And then when the Giants tie you up at 20 all go three and out and take like nine seconds off the clock because you throw it three times. That is dumb football. And a team that runs the ball eight times and passes it 17 times in the second half is not a team that’s playing in their strengths. I have a big issue with(what) Matt LaFleur and Aaron Rodgers are doing right now. Because again all these checks you see on the go line he hands that ball off and he walks in. I get the blitz and it’s going to be confusing and it’s going to be all these things but at some point you play to your strengths when you have two backs like that. You don’t give AJ Dillon 6 touches. It just doesn’t fit. And we knew the receivers were going to be at work in progress. So I understand the numbers they are what they are. I think those numbers get better as the season goes but in the interim you have to play to your strengths….right now they don’t have an identity.  wrote:

It didn’t take long for former Super Bowl champion Chris Canty to agree:

I’m right there with Jeff. You look at what Wink Martindale the DC for the Giants did. They were out there with six or seven defensive backs. You got to run teams out of that kind of stuff. There’s a reason Aaron Rodgers was 0 for 6 on attempts beyond 20 yards from the line of scrimmage on Sunday. It’s because they were taking away the passing game. You got a lean on your run game and quite frankly that’s when the Packers have had success. That’s when they get their explosive plays when they set up opportunities through play action. It ain’t Aaron Rodgers dropping back in shotgun and getting it done.

Saturday, then quickly jumped back in:

Listen, I really don’t understand. When you look at defenses, I remember when I played I say hey they’re 25th In the league in stopping the run we’re probably going to run it a little more than normal. They’re really good at stopping the pass and putting pressure we’re probably going to throw it a little less. It’s like they do the exact opposite. Coach’s outsmart themselves. I just don’t get it.

Literally, the Giants were not stopping runs up the middle, and the Packers just didn't do them often, but 21 yards in 3 rushed between Myers and Runyan and 7 yards on one run between Myers and Newman.

I strongly doubt this play call is in their audibles, but if you ask Dillon to play FB and block for Rodgers to run straight up the middle, then the OL can double team both DL and Rodgers should be able easily make it to the 3 yard line and dive or slide or whatever he wants to from there.

Breaking: Colts are naming their former six-time Pro-Bowl C and ESPN analyst Jeff Saturday as their interim head coach. Saturday has been a consultant for the team, is in its Ring Of Honor, and also was head coach for the Hebron Christian Academy football team in Dacula, Georgia.

dfosterf (4m) : Cutting Bowden is odd. I do remember reading he needed to work on his velocity, but don't even know how fixable that is
Zero2Cool (46m) : Packers signed a QB today
Zero2Cool (47m) : Packers long snapper Peter Bowden has been released to sign Jacob Eason.
wpr (1h) : I heard Reed tweeked his ankle and his youth camp.
beast (1h) : I believe NJI is usually used for pre-NFL injuries (rookies) and vets that got injured doing something they weren't supposed to.
beast (1h) : Might be interesting to hear how Reed got injured, as I believe NJI is non-football and teams don't have to pay you list.
Zero2Cool (22-Jul) : Love won't practice until new deal is agreed. Ok, my stance changed
Zero2Cool (22-Jul) : TRAIIIIINNNNNING CAMP!!! let's fookin go!!!
Zero2Cool (22-Jul) : Jayden Reed placed on Non-Football Injury list
beast (21-Jul) : Yeah with the way the cap went up, don't be surprised if the new good QB gets more than $55 million per season
Zero2Cool (21-Jul) : Kenny Clark. Extended!!
buckeyepackfan (21-Jul) : The "raw" number will probably be in that area. The numbers to look at are signing bonus. Guaranteed money, and Salary Cap Hit each year.
dfosterf (21-Jul) : Those numbers align with my guesstimate. Might find out tomorrow
Zero2Cool (21-Jul) : Saw some rumor the Love contract is around 5 years $280m. There's no way.

Zero2Cool (18-Jul) : Cobb has NOT retired. open to playing in right situation
Zero2Cool (18-Jul) : Randall Cobb retires, joins broadcast for SEC games
Zero2Cool (18-Jul) : GOod thing 49ers took him. I think Packers would have taken Aiyuk if he was there
Zero2Cool (18-Jul) : Story goes, Packers felt he'd be on board cuz he's basically Deebo.
wpr (17-Jul) : I was disappointed the Packers didn't get the chance to draft Aiyuk. 10 minutes later I changed my mind.
Mucky Tundra (16-Jul) : Zero, absolutely! Reading comments from offseasn workouts all the players+coaches say the same
Zero2Cool (16-Jul) : Send him to Dolphins haha
Zero2Cool (16-Jul) : 49ers All-Pro WR Brandon Aiyuk has officially requested a trade after an offseason of unsuccessful attempts to reach an extension.
Zero2Cool (16-Jul) : My comment was not. I think offense starting off ahead of last season should be a great sight to see!
wpr (16-Jul) : It was only hyperbole people.
Mucky Tundra (16-Jul) : And that's with what we know unless a training camp darkhorse emerges
Mucky Tundra (16-Jul) : Wilson vs Dillon for RB
Mucky Tundra (16-Jul) : Just depends how many they want at each position but wrs 1-4 seem set with Melton vs Heath and Wilson v
Mucky Tundra (16-Jul) : Outside of some of the starting oline, the offense feels pretty locked in
Zero2Cool (16-Jul) : I think there are some battles, but seeing hte offense is gonna be must see for me
wpr (16-Jul) : this year no one is safe. Battles at every position!!!!1!
Mucky Tundra (16-Jul) : This is gonna be the craziest training camp ever!!!!1!
Zero2Cool (15-Jul) : training camp hyperbole is gonna be crazy
dfosterf (6-Jul) : He and 2 others in the car were killed. The allegedly drunk driver and her passengers were unharmed.
dfosterf (6-Jul) : Prince Georges county, MD. Just outside DC. He was a passenger in a vehicle struck by an alledgedly drunk driver.
beast (6-Jul) : Vikings 4th round pick, CB Khyree Jackson died in automobile accident
dhazer (6-Jul) : Just watching old highlights and was shocked at how much this offense can look like the 2010 offfense with so many different weapons to use

Martha Careful (25-Jun) : Congratulations to the Florida Panthers in the NHL and U Tenn in the CWS on their championships
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : He slammed Rodgers for not being married. And said he wants his QB settled down, not single.

wpr (24-Jun) : This is such a relief. I have been so worried that Cowturd, I mean, herd would never approve of Love.
