Time to go to the draft board and see what The Packers could get from The Titans!

The more the merrier.

I've been wondering if the Packers have been waiting for June so they can spread his dead cap over two years.

So forget the June stuff... just focus on getting the best deal...

As for the Titans, it sounds like they're positioning to be plan B... not trying to compete with the Jets offer, but a lower offer if the higher offer falls through so they can try to compete for their weak division even while rebuilding.

Post June savings would save no cash, only cap space.

Extending Gary would cost cash, but because of NFL cap rules of signing bonuses, would actually free up cap space.

So no, you don't need to save cap space to complete an additional action that would also save cap space.

Both actions free up cap space, so I don't understand why you keep asking as if they would have opposite effects to cancel each other out.

You're asking if you can push cap forward, just so you can later move it back... if you want to free 2024 cap space then just don't do anything, no need to create extra work.

But sure, you can make four left turns just so you can make four rights turns, and have absolutely nothing change but waste a lot of gas and/or paper.
