Packers Injury Report: Jayden Reed misses back-to-back practices

Reed, Green Bay’s leading receiver, is apparently still recovering from a chest injury that occurred two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Green Bay Packers saw running back AJ Dillon (groin) return to practice on Thursday. Yesterday, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur stated that the team was just “trying to get [Dillon] healthy” this week after the back battled through injury in last week’s Thanksgiving Day victory over the Detroit Lions . Unfortunately, cornerback Robert Rochell (calf), who has mostly been featured as a special teamer this season, went from a limited participant on Wednesday to a non-participant today.

Along with Rochell, the other non-participants in practice on Thursday were running back Aaron Jones (knee) and receiver Jayden Reed (chest). Jones hasn’t practiced since his injury against the Los Angeles Chargers two weeks ago. LaFleur claimed that Reed hasn’t had an injury setback and that the receiver’s injury stems from the Chargers game, too. Offensive coordinator Adam Stenovich confirmed that Reed played through the injury against the Lions last week and that the team will pick and choose when to play him this weekend.

For back-to-back practices, the following players have been limited for the Packers: cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder), inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell (neck), defensive tackle Kenny Clark (shoulder), tight end Josiah Deguara (hip), safety Rudy Ford (biceps/groin), outside linebacker Rashan Gary (shoulder), cornerback Eric Stokes (hamstring) and receiver Dontayvion Wicks (knee). Ford’s designation changed today, when he went from having just a “biceps” status to now holding a “biceps/groin” designation.

It’s safe to say that Green Bay is still pretty banged up, despite the “mini bye” following a Thursday game. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs — the Packers’ next opponent — only have two players who were limited in practice today: inside linebacker Nick Bolton (wrist) and running back Jerrick McKinnon (groin).

Keep an eye out for Friday’s injury report, as full participation for the limited players on the Packers’ squad will strongly suggest that a player will suit up against the Chiefs. Until then, too much is up in the air to make sense of who will be available on gameday.
