Like it was said earlier Tony does not want to come to Green Bay and has it in his contract to block a trade. So this will not happen, I still say the whole circus last year will hurt us in getting Free agents to come play for us, hell our own players are thinking they won't be back.

Tony Gonzales can block a trade but he said he wanted to Green Bay. He was questioning why did his old GM pull the trigger on the trade to Green Bay.

The Favre think didn't hurt the FA on the Packers roster.

I read it from some KC newspaper where he was complaining and not understanding why the GM didn't pull the trigger on the trade to the Packers or some other team....

He didn't want to go to the Bills or Falcons is what it said.

I haven't heard a thing about him not wanting to come to Green bay other than people guessing like they do about every player on why they don't won't to come to Green Bay.

But it sounded like he talked to MM and sounded like he wouldn't mind playing for MM at all again.

Go ahead and say there's nothing wrong with our TE's.

But when the opportunity comes to get the best TE in the history of professional football, you take it.

What's all this crap about him not wanting to come to Green Bay? Almost every report said he was ready to pack his bags and come to the Tundra. When Thompson offered that third round pick, Gonzalez said he'd commit to three more years.

Sure, we have Finley and Lee. But I'd very much prefer to have three good TE's rather than two passable ones.

If he can make Tyler Thigpen look good, he can make Aaron Rodgers look better than Jesus.

That would be fine if we had three passable DE's but we don't. We have one. Ted aint going out and get several expensive FA's.

Gonzo would not be cheap and a waste IMO as a luxury when you consider Finley was a very young player when he got here and his time is just now getting here. In fact I think he will be very hard for any LB to cover this coming season.

A Julius Peppers along side a healthy Jenkins puts us right back in the hunt whereas Gonzo does not fix what is broke. I asked for an end for Christmas. Just not a TE.

The trade was all but done but King Carl (GM) pulled out and demanded more (2nd rounder). Gonzo wanted to come here. I don't know where you got that info.

I don't want Gonzo in Green Bay. We have talented tight ends alread and his age isn't worth giving up some picks.
Gonzo is a good tight end but his years are surely numbered.

I don't think people understand.

Tony Gonzales is the best TE in the NFL. Even if he plays only 3 more years, if it's an healthy 3 more years than he's worth it. The Packers have the money to do it.

As for the people that say no because of Finley.

WHAT SAY FINLEY DONE IN THE NFL AGAIN?

The guy only has two games where he caught more than 6 yards worth and hasn't broken 40 yards yet.

And if he made those plays that Rodgers trusted him to make a play in the Titans game the Packers might of won.

And Finley threw Rodgers "under the bus" with his commits...

Finley NEEDS someone to learn from.... why not the best in the game in Tony Gonzales.

Also Tony Gonzales would be the Packers clear best blocker and best pass catcher.

Young people make mistakes with there mouth.. hell if you want to go down that route.. one could hold a grudge against Rodgers and his "Get on the bus or shut up" comment.

Make the argument on Finley's talents and future.. not some immature comment which he learned from.

BTW.. did you see Finley's Detroit game where they utilized his talents by moving him around in the sets?

What were is final number for that game with more than one opportunity?

Would Tony help us.. yes.. but at what cost? Would that cost offset the compensation that we would have to give up in draft value and salary?

BTW.. Poili probably won't deal TG.. his is the best playmaker they have in the receiving game.. IMO.

Umm so how many games did Detroit win again? That's right none. And Finley's stats for that game were 2 catches (his only more than one catch game) for 29 yards.

That's against Detroit!!!!

He doesn't even have 75 yards in his career yet. Tony can put more than that up in a game. And Finley stats for his NFL career currently are 6 catches for 74 yards. I'm not going to trust him to big the big thing next year.

As far as would Tony be worth it? Well how many people can cover Tony? how many people can cover Jennings? How many teams that could cover both at the same time?

IDK for sure for I promise it's very very few.

Also some claim a big reason for some running plays break downs was the TE not blocking well enough. Tony is a better than any of the TEs on the roster so he would also help with that.

Tony G is still an impact player at the tight end position. Donald Lee isn't.

I'd bring in Tony G and let go of Donald Lee any day. Nothing against Donald Lee, but that's how football works. You upgrade and then you clear cap room. It would make a lot of sense and Jermichael Finley has a year or two to learn from Tony G.

Don't forget Ron Wolf brought in Keith Jackson and he had an outstanding year in 1996. 1996 was the year Green Bay won the Super Bowl.
