Looks like we have 7 players that are pre TT. So gimmie a break when a GM comes in and gets rid of all the vets of course he will have to fill in the rest of the roster with his draft picks. Its only common sense so i think the stat is over rated.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

He loses Brian Brohm, but Josh Sitton is starting.

He's had success all over the draft board at least when it comes to constructing this team which is now his.

We'll find out this year how good of a GM he really is I think.

Do you really follow the Packers? If you have, you'd know that our team was very old in several key positions. Therefore, needed to be retooled. Thompson has done that. Albeit, not in the timely fashion as I'd have hoped, but he has.

and his stats are over ranked because the GM before him did a bad job of getting young talentand had a lot of untalented vets so because of that Ted Thompson stats are padded.

But then against think about it.... most GMs come in because the GM before them sucked.... sometimes it's because they retired but usually not. So most GMs stats are padded.

Also I disagree with the idea Pat Lee is done... the kids is a super talent kid if he can stay healthy.

Anyways what goes to Ted Thompson is that this is clearly a VERY VERY talented team which is his job... so I think Ted Thompson has done a great job as it's shown in all the talent on this team.

I live in Illinois and have to listen to the Chicago sports talk radio praise and gripe about the Bears. One look at their draft picks over the years (with a few exceptions--i.e. Matt Forte) and it's obvious that Ted Thompson is better at the drafting game than at least one other owner. I like our youth. With the exception of our secondary, we are pretty young all around.

I hate when people try and compair MS and TT.

Sherman took over a team with a lot of solid vets, IMHO he tried to grab guys that would give the team immediate help, he did not have the luxury to retool and rebuild, The Packers were expected to win every year he was there.

Added to the fact that MS was part of the mid-nineteis experiment of having a GM/HC, which pretty much failed everywhere(I.E. Mike Holmgren Seattle), and you just can't compare the two.

I think Ted Thompson has done a fine job, as did Mike Sherman, but as was stated earlier, this is the year that will tell just how good Ted Thompson and MM really are.

and yes he grabbed guys that he thought would be immediate help... which was one of his problems... it's much smarter to look for help for the long run. Also in the drafts he didn't really bring in to much talent over the year. It probably didn't help most of the media (and so probably most of the teams) knew who he was targeting so he had to trade up.... to get them. Let's face it, he always thought about now and not about the future.

and you just can't compare the two.

I think Ted Thompson has done a fine job, as did Mike Sherman

they had the same job... and not much had change in those years. There really is no reason you can't compare them.... other than Ted Thompson took over a much worse team but that's because of Sherman not doing his job as GM.

Also Sherman didn't do a fine job..... he was pretty bad at it....

I agree Thompson hasn't proven he can be good over the long run.... but this team is clearly a young talented team.....

When Ted Thompson has a better winning percentage than MS, then you can compare the two and say Ted Thompson is doing a better job.

If Ted Thompson had to be GM/HC, I think you would have seen a much different aproach to his situation.

One of the main reasons Ted Thompson was brought in was because MS was trying to deal with playe contract negotiations and then go out and be the head coach. It has been proven that philosphy has failed more than succeeded.

Bottom line GM's and HC's are judged on their w/l percentage, as of right now, MS is far ahead of TT.

I see the potential in this team, it is year 5, time for the potential to start paying off.(IMHO it will!!!)
