Good to see Martin's career continued. I'll be rooting for him, even against us as we will destroy the Rams anyways so it's irrelevant if he catches 5 passes for 120 yards and a TD against us when we win 38-14.

Good find on this news. Many mentioned that Martin just was not progressing fast enough for our roster but I am anticipating that we will hear his name much more in the next couple years. He also seems to be humble with a sensible outlook on the game.

Didnt smith join the rams too?

Still mystified why we dropped him.

So we get to play against 2 recent/former packers good players.

Lol Ill go over to Ted Thompson's house and personal give him a piece of my mind if smith picks one off rodgers.

I think there had to be some behind the scenes stuff going on with Smith. He looked great in the preseason, was young, knew the 3-4, and was on a rediculously friendly contract for the team. It might have been a good move if he was causing problems in the locker room.

Or maybe the team loves Derrick Martin! The Pacman of GB and country music!!!

Good for him. Hopefully he won't be 5 on the depth chart.

They surprisingly released bargain free agent Anthony Smith because of poor special teams play and concern about a chronic groin injury and assignment consistency.

Our Rams sources tell us that WR Ruvell Martin, who was just picked up off the waiver wire after getting released by the Packers, was already taking snaps with first unit. Word is Martin, whom Aaron Rodgers said was his best friend on the team in Green Bay, could quickly become the Rams' No. 3 receiver over Keenan Burton, who has not looked very good at all

Just shows the depth of our WR's. Good job Ruvell.

And even more about theirs. The Rams are dreadfull. Especially on offense. Bulger is decent, but he has no O-line, he has no receivers and his good running back is injured half the time.

Take a look at that receiving core.

* 17 Donnie Avery
* 14 Keenan Burton
* 82 Ruvell Martin
* 11 Laurent Robinson
* 19 Derek Stanley

On one side you have a starter who had a decent rookie season and is expected to progress. A young guy who hasn't totally proven himself.

Then you have Laurent Robinson, the other starter, who has never put up more that 500 yards a season. Had just 5 catches last year. Although he did look pretty good last year.

Derek Stanley is nothing more than a punt returner.

Keenan Burton has been very average last year and very dissapointing last year.

I'm not saying that our receiving core isn't that great, but theirs is just horrible. I think that Ruvell could even start for that team.

Going from fighting for a play-off spot to fighting for a win. The Rams just won't let the Lions have one record for themselfs.

I'd love to see Ruvell Martin turn into a starting WR. I doubt anybody would be offended by that notion. Really good guy who deserves to see more balls thrown his way.
