I don't think babre gave up a sack last night, did he?

No I dont think he did and thats my point.

Barbre was part of a .5 sack, the one where both tackles got beat and met Rodgers who was in a 9 step drop it looked like.

I am a little causious about the whole thing. Mark was never a good run blocker, and are we bankrupting the future (Barbe?) by not allowing him to play through some bad games? Seems to me I remember alot of the same talk about colledge his first season and a half. It took him (colledge) some time to truly become a starter. Also I am not so sure how bad he has played over the last couple of games. Allen had what 4 and a half sacks playing over colledge. I am working on downloading last nights game to watch where the preasure came from.

According to Bob McGinn (who I trust) Barbre was partially responsible for giving up 3 sacks and also gave up 3 pressures. In total, Jared Allen lined up on top of him (Barbre) 10 times, but Barbre help up decent against him. Against DE Ray Edwards.... not so much.

I'm guessing Allen came on some stunts then. Because Allen doesn't play LE. He was lined up on Colledge the majority of the game. I did notice him go on a few stunts though, but the majority of the time I don't think he got home on those plays.

Look even when Tauscher and Clifton are in there playing Rodgers is going to have to hit some check downs and he's going to need to step up in the pocket. Too many times a rusher runs wide of our tackles and there's nothing they can do about a sack because Rodgers is standing back to far. He needs to step up or else he's hanging his tackles out to dry.

There's is no doubt the O-Line has played bad. I'm confident in them all with Tauscher and Clifton back plus everyone back to where they need to be. But If Rodgers doesn't start smartening up then he's still going to eat 2-3 sacks a game with great O-Line play. He got nailed for 8 last night and I can count 4-5 that were on him not stepping up to buy a little more time or just flat out holding the ball too long.

Allen said yesterday on one of the ESPN shows that on one sack he was rushing and saw Grant coming for a chip block so he just stopped and Grant missed him and the Tackle just moved away and he had a clear shot on Rodgers. He said he was so tired he actually was going to give up on the play.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The emotional swings on this board are hilarious. I guess as the lone voice crying in the wilderness, I will reiterate that I didn't believe in Chad Clifton before the season, and I don't believe in him now. I certainly didn't believe in Mark Tauscher before the season, and I don't believe in him now. I don't believe having either of them back will make an appreciable difference in the quality of line play. And even if it does, it's going to take at least a couple of games before the jitters subside and Rodgers is able to calm down.

The biggest irony I see in this discussion is that it's the same people calling for Campen's head who are excited about the prospect of Tauscher's return. If he couldn't make do with the personnel we brought into the season, how well do you think he'll be able to fit another piece into the puzzle?

Of course, I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

Campen had little to do with the basic pure fundamentals of footwork and basic blocking principles with either Clifton, Tauscher and Wells. They broke in under Beightol and were taught sound fundamental, where as we have seen the same slap happy fundamental mistakes from the players developed under Campen. That doesn't strike you as odd?

Listen.. would I rather have a young stud of a tackle to replace either Tauscher or Clifton. Yes.. they are on the downside of their careers, but I can tell you both can fundamentally block better than any other option we have at tackle. Point blank period.

They might get beat with speed, IE Clifton.. but both know how to pass block on the edges. No they aren't dominant run blockers, but we are a pass first team, so it makes sense to have guys that strengths are pass blocking to win out.

And if that doesn't seal the freaking door on the job Campen has done getting players ready in his tenure, then I give the hell up.

I get the same pissing an moaning story about Clifton has his difficulties handling speed on a fast turf.. then this staff should have had a plan B in place. They don't, they freaking failed, so sorry if I feel more confident with the warrior in Clifton and Tauscher out there than the freaking options.

Hence why it is time to chuck Campen.. hell it is well past time.

There is no emotional swings.. just freaking fed up with the same happy bullshit since the 06 season.. we haven't had a teacher on the offensive line since that point. It is pathetic.

Are we all SURE that Tauscher fits? I think that Tauscher is a desperate stop gap measure. We don't know that Tauscher is going to be in game shape on time, IF he does work his ass off to get in game shap in 1 and a half weeks, how long will he last before he gets hurt?

I think Tauscher is a temporary solution. I wouldn't be too surprised if Thompson brings in or trades for a tackle.

Personally, I hope Tauscher worksout. The Packers are in NEED of that but I am a bit doubtful that Ted Thompson is looking at him as anything more than a temporary solution.

that's what the workouts are for. McCarthy didn't sound like Tausch was going to just slip right into the starting lineup, or anything like that.

I heard Tauscher was working out hard prior to this. Of course he's not in game shape, but it should happen quicker than if he had been sitting out/only doing rehab for the past couple of months.

The next two teams we better beat or I should say we HAVE to beat. I think the target for him to go full would be the third game after the break.

We all know who that is.
