I like the signing, I said that when it happened, even if Ahmad doesn't see the field that much, he can give Ryan Grant some great veteran knowledge.

My other thought is that Ted Thompson realizes a good portion of The Packer Nation is not happy with the way the season has started, and is hoping Green flashes some of that magic he had in his prime and that will quiet a few for at least a little while.

If anything Green is a workout fanatic, he and Hawk can be in the weight room working out 24/7 since neither of them at this point, are seeing much playng time!!!

The fumbling decreased, and he didn't have any in Houston.

You know that if he does fumble even once, there is going to be talk on all of the radio stations about the black sleeves vs. the white sleeves vs. no sleeves.

Exactly. If i recall correctly, he played better with the white sleeve :)

He only carries the ball in his left hand. I think he blamed it on those elbow pad things, when he was sweating or something. He did cost us a game or two that year we went 4-12, iirc.
Statistically, he fumbled almost exactly as often as Jim Taylor. Basically, it just seems like he fumbled alot.

If we were signing Ahman as our feature back, you'd have a point. We are using him as a 3rd RB. I don't see that as being desperate at all. Injuries can force these types of moves too.

I would think that in 5 years of drafting by Ted, we wouldn't have to be digging through the scrap heaps for players.

Requirements to fill out the roster mid-season due to injuries are a completely separate issue.

Oh really, explain that to me please.
Why do we have a taxi squad (practice squad to you youngsters)?

Are the guys that Ted drafted that are on there not good enough to play ( Lumpkin for example)?

"wils0646" wrote:

Lumpy wasn't drafted was he? They signed Green because he can catch the ball and run screens. He is also a proven pass protector.

I can think of one game, the Chiefs game that could be put onto Ahman's fumbling.

And as for him having a problem with fumbling, it was predominately in the first half of the season. Which makes sense, because the fumbles are attributed to his intense perspiration problem. The rubber sleeves were useless because sweat on rubber is slick. The white ones soaked the sweat up a bit.

Sleeves or no sleeves. Or if he wears sleeves, will he go with rubber or the white w/ green stripe? lol

snip from Jason Wilde on Ahman Green on the podcast from ESPN Milwaukee...

Jackson or Wynn being used on kick offs instead of Tramon Williams..He plays over half of plays on defense, and is important there, they feel he is more important for the defense than being on special teams....

Sounds like they want to use Wynn or Jackson on kick offs..This way bringing in Green, would help the back up Rb situation..Not sure on Wynns injury..

Brett Swain has been mentioned for kick offs..Not sure if the team likes his body type for kick offs..

looks like that was true
