We were out int he back yard burning a little wood in the fire pit. My dog (age 7) was laying there nice and quiet. He suddenly got up and headed into to evergreen trees. He headed to the back lot line where there are flowers. A few minutes later he headed to the far side of the garden and we could tell he was into a "discussion" with something. The neighbor's dogs were going wild so we thought one of them came over into our yard.
NOT. My dog got SKUNKED but good. He was rubbing his face into the Iris leaves. Walking all thru the yards and rubbing in the ground. He even went into the blackberry bushes trying to get the smell off.

My wife wanted to Fabreeze him. Good thing she read not to put that stuff on a pet.

I will bet he never tangles with one of those critters again.

Not sure if it is an urban ledgend or not?

I heard Tomato Juice is the best remedy...

Put that frisky feller in the tub and scrub him with tomato juice... Then rinse, wash, and rinse again.

Edit: I found a link:

Thanks RP. The site I found last nite said not to use tomato juice or vinegar as they only "mask the smell". I thought "well duh, you think I want to KEEP the smell around"?
That article (which had info from a Vet at Texas A & M) said to use the peroxide, baking soda and soap as it as a chemical reaction that releases the spray from the dog's coat.

I think my dog would rather have the skunk smell that to take a bath.

As I was scrubbing him for some reason I couldn't help but feel sorry for Mrs Cheesey. I don't know why. :wickedfart:

Lol, nice.

Our old dog used to love to roll through poo. Not that great an odor, either.

I've never actually seen or smelled a skunk, though.

My friend when he was a youngun had his beagle skunked.. He said tomato juice didn't work, and just made him stink as bad as the dog. I don't think he used anything special.. I just think he washed the dog every day and eventually the smell disappated. Sorry dude. lol

Oh, the worst.. EVER. You can smell them from meters away while driving your car with the windows up, and you can still smell them like they are in the car. Nasty buggers.

"Odor Tech" or " Skunk Stuff" works pretty good.
A guy i know is the distributor of it.
I'll check to see if i can find his web site and send the link to you.
Oh....and LOL! on the "Mrs. Cheesey" comment!
Ok.....i found his site, but he doesn't have the stuff anymore. But i did find someone selling a bottle on ebay. I'll PM it to you.
I used the stuff back in the 1980's on some nasty smells, and it worked well.

When I lived in my old house, I had a crawlspace underneath, no basement. skunks, stray cats were underneath. Skunks used to spray underneath and it would come up through the furnace vents and I would have to open windows for days.

I know that they like to get underneath the houses or porches and that it is tough to get them out. I really feel sorry for you.

Zero2Cool (19h) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round

Martha Careful (2-Aug) : Congratulations Sterling Sharpe. He was terrific and I loved watching him play.
beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : the Synder years or do they take care of one of their own?
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Do the Commanders risk losing a top WR with an emerging QB just because he's turning 30 and potentially risk damaging the rebuild from
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I would imagine Dallas will resolve this issue with a truckload of money
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : Micah pulling a Myles with trade request

beast (30-Jul) : RIP site 😭
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
beast (30-Jul) : How did Quinn Ewers effect where Golden was drafted?
dfosterf (30-Jul) : All I've experienced was late at night or early morning. I just figured you were doing something in the background
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site sure seems to be down more than up
