Usually I speak with a mild tongue....

But Fuck the Yankees, Jerry Jones, Bill Belicheat, and every violent SOB on the planet.

Go Phillies. :thumbleft:

It's about as hard to root for the Yankees as it is to root for the Patriots. Frontrunners, the lot o' ya. 😉

Meh..I don't think they're as hard to root for this year. Instead of being all serious and boring like they used to be, they seem to be having some fun now. But I hate the Phillies as a Mets fan so I'd never root for them, GO YANKEES!

I think you missed my point entirely. I'm saying it's pretty damn easy to root for a team that has the money to compete year after year. 😛

Yup....the Brewers will never be in a WS. We had Sabathia....for one partial season. Then he bolted for the big money.
Can't compete with that. NEED a salary cap.
As long as Milwaukee can't compete with that, i don't care WHO is in the WS.

I don't care for either team. When in doubt I am a NLer.
The Yankees have bought enough WS to last 5 lifetimes but d@mn, Phillie Phans are the pits.

I like Joe. His wife use to play games online and talk to my mother in law when he was the manager of the Marlins. She went by the name "Mrs G". Every once in a while Joe would sign in under her name and as they chatted he would tell my M in law that he was "Mr G" and they would talk for a few minutes. I respect him a lot. Glad he go a great gig. But the Yankees??? :pukeright:

6-1

Lee Fantastic... C.C. Very very good. Two great pitchers in a game that the final score.... does not represent how good C.C. actually was.

The Cleveland Indians are the greatest minor league development organization for World Series caliber teams.

I can sleep tonight knowing that the "arrogant" among the Yankee Fans were silent all game long.

How about Rollins calling it a World Series Championship for Pilly in Five Games. LOL

I have tried over the years to switch allegiances to a "local" team. I succeeded once, in a sense. I became a Baltimore Orioles fan. I could do this because Washington, D.C. did not have a baseball team, so it didn't seem to me to be a "switch", because I never was a Brewers fan, plus it wasn't a D.C. team, per se.

This was the era of Eddie, Cal, Bumbry, Palmer, etc. Then, ownership changed, they built Camden Yards, the Yankees stole our best pitcher (sound familiar?) and they have been a doormat, coupled with a strike...Baseball lost me.

Last year I came close to giving a shit about the Phillies. I am an "American League" type of fan, but they reminded me of an American League type of team.

I could only generate moderate interest and fandom, but was mildly pleased that they won.

I have slightly LESS interest this year... I just cannot do it. I cannot switch teams on a serious basis. I will not follow baseball until the Orioles return to respectability, and I don't see that happening in my lifetime as long as the Yankees and Red Sox are in the same division. All I can muster is a deep-seated hatred for the Yankees, because I feel that they have led to the demise of the entire sport.

So, put me down for the Phillies, but also put me down for a generalized meh on the whole damn thing.

Sad sport, nowadays, imo.

I loved the fact that in the middle to late part of the game, as the Yankee pitchers are walking batters left and right.. the Yankee crowd was reduced to cheering even single strikes over the plate.

Enjoyable.. even if the Phillies can't take them down.. this game took some of the swagger out of the Yanks..
