I've always thought it was stupid that a team that was just beaten could be ranked higher than the team that beat them.

Starting in week one, it would be neat to see a week by week power ranking set up.

The first week would be the trickiest. How do you sort them to start? I was thinking the previous years draft order.

From there, you start at the bottom team and work your way up.

What do you do toward the end of the season when you have head-to-head splits?

It wouldn't matter.

Each week you start from the bottom, and work your way up.

32 Browns

wait, start from the top --- this would be more gooder

1 Colts
2 Saints
3 Patriots
4 Cowboys

Colts won, so no change.
Saints won, so no change.
Patriots lost, but the team is already ahead of them, no change.
Cowboys lost, so the team that beat them, is put in there spot and they are bumped down a peg.

Anyone who beats GB: weak. See, e.g., Vikings.
Anyone who loses to GB: strong. See, e.g. Cowboys.

That way your team always can claim it's "underrated," since it's only behind "teams that it has beaten" or "teams that it would beat if it got the chance to play them."

Call it the HPR ("Homers' Power Rating")
