As noted above, there seems to be a sense of overall urgency amongst the players in Green Bay and probably even more so in regards to the coaching staff.

The Tampa loss just might have been the most constructive loss in Green Bay in the decade.. served as a true wake up call.

Amongst those were the linebackers.. the intensity has picked up, while I still have moments where I think the two starters are a little "soft" at the point of attack, they have picked up there games to a point where I think it outmatches what Bishop brings to the table.

IMO, Bishop is an enforcer type in the box and has a bit of a limited range to him.. not so much vertically but from side to side... where I think he would bring a more physical presence to the unit, I think we might be giving up a little in terms of Barnett. I don't think the overall gap between Hawk and Bishop is that great..

I am biased a bit though... I like my inside backers to be skull crackers.. not guys that rely upon their speed alone..

If I am the opposition game planning for the Packers.. I guarantee that I will test the center of this defense before I try to take it outside. Pickett has been playing exceptionally this season at the point.. so if I can move him or isolate him.. I run right smack at Barnett and Hawk and challenge their ability to get off a block. Time and time again.. you see the opposition winning the one and one battle over both straight up..

I like Bishop a lot...so much that I think he would be a good use for a nice trade. Get some picks for him and get some offensive linemen on this team.

I don't think that that nice pick will be anything higher than a 6th.

He's one of those guys that has value to the franchise, but not much in the league. It's like Josh Johnson. The Bucs think highly of him, but there's not a team in the league that'd give more than a 6th for the kid.

I am an avid bishop fan also (just changed avatars ie had one of him all last year).

IMO he is our best rush ILB that we have. Good at stopping the run also.

We should use him more rather then giving it all to barnett and hawk ... although I think bishop replaces barnett and chillar often replaces hawk ... (might have to correct me on that one thou).

the man is a stud.

i honestly think the only reason hes not getting a shot is because Barnett is being paied starter money.

The reason he's not getting playing time is because there have been better options... simple as that...

Bishop gives up a lot of plays to the offense... he makes them too but he gives them up more than he makes...

the other ILB are better... no other reason than the others are better...

The Bishop talk reminds me of how so many of us thought of Abdul Hodge.

Personally I think he should be used in game situations where we need to become stouter at the point of attack.. short yardage, early downs and red zone...

Although I don't see him as that big of a drop off as some think.
