NORMALLY if your O scores 45 points, you win.
Our "great" defense SUCKED today. They were just plain AWFUL.
Letting the Cards go down the field to get in FG range is unaceptable. We were lucky to get in OT.
Then AR misses that pass to Jennings that would have won the game for us.
So close........damn...it hurts.
But i am SO proud that our guys did not quit. They gave their all. Just came up short.

Rodgers should of made that pass to Jennings. No excuse for that. They've played together for two years now, they should be thinking the same on every pass play.

An awful loss and yet another year where the Pack goes home when they could have avoided it.

I hate complaining after a loss, but why was that not a facemask on Aaron?

That I can live with, I'm more miffed (and angry) about the lack of 'helmet to helmet' call on the play before where Aaron got bulldozed over.

What the hell, refs?

I agree. The refs missed a few today.

I mentioned it to my wife that it started like the Seattle playoff game..

Just wished it ended that way

"Bigbyfan" wrote:

Unfortunately it ended pretty much exactly like the Giants game.

1) Missed kick by opponent
2) Win coin toss
3) Turnover

I was wondering why we didn't run the ball on the 1st down to settle things down. We went out a blazing instead of composed. I absolultely hated the holding call. Especially since Aaron took a head shot.

Ya I was thinking the same thing. I think some refs need to get fired after all their shady calls today. I saw multiple times there should have been flags for roughing Rodgers. Also still mad about that touchdown that Woodson got ran over to get open - yet another ignored penalty.

All things considered, with our secondary injuries and such, at least the offense kicked it up a notch and made it a game.

Before I clicked on this thread, I was sure that the title was meant in a sarcastic manner. Lol.

Anyway, I was quite concerned after the first quarter. Just as much about losing as Rodgers being a 'choker in the play-offs' and not being able to follow 'the legacy'. I'm very glad that he turned it around. If we'd won, it'd be on him. There's nothing more that anyone could've done there.

Just think about this. Rodgers got hot later on. He threw for 400 yards in, I think, less than 3 quarters. That's the way to get your team back in position to win. Whenever you score 45 points and lose, you can put it on your defense.

And that is what scares me most. This is the second time that we've given up these kinds of points and yards. Don't get me wrong, Warner is a great QB, but 51 points and something like 600 yards isn't acceptable. Is our defense really as good as advertised? I thought that we where 1, maybe 2 o-linemen and an elite DE/OLB away from being a SB team.

The only consolation is that we'll get 3 more CBs back next year.

I honestly believe our offense will be competing for #1 in the league next year. Unfortunately I no longer have faith in the defense (admittedly only because of this game)

I'm still awfully salty over some blown calls (the TWO offensive penalties on the Fitzgerald TD -- one being Fitzgerald's offensive PI against Woodson AND Jolly being held -- shoulda been at least offsetting penalties, not to mention the blown facemask on the last play of the game).

This one will sting for a while, just like the Pittsburgh game. Nevertheless, I'm incredibly proud of this team. I'm proud of Jennings for having perhaps his best game of the season; of Rodgers for showing he's one of the coolest cats under center in the entire game; of Grant for doing everything he could with limited touches; of Woodson for forcing ANOTHER crucial fumble; of McCarthy for having the courage to go for the onside kick and to go for it on fourth down only plays later; of Finley for continuing his evolution towards becoming a premier playmaker -- I could go on and on and on.

I think we absolutely need to find a way to apply pressure more consistently. We need to improve the overall offensive line play. We're not there yet, but damn am I proud. I've had a lot of fun watching the Pack this season.

Thank you Pack.

edit: just went to NFL.com and you can actually see a still shot of Rodgers being facemasked. Humbug.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

Man Woodson.

He is the player that began our comeback into this game, IMO. That strip of Fitz was sorely needed...
