Poor Viking fans,,......they thought they would get some kind of "revenge" by watching the Saints fall to the Colts.
Didn't happen now, did it????LOLOL!!!

While I can't speak for all the Purple faithful, I was pulling for the Saints to win. Good game, enjoyed it.

I always pull for the NFC team..........unless it is the Packers. ::wink:

Looking at some of your previous posts, I asume that you visit PP.O from time to time, as well. You've surely noticed the sour grapes over there.

Not that that's how every Vikings fan feels, obviously, but some of them... Lol.

I don't see the connection between Katrina and this Super Bowl victory. It's been over half a decade since Katrina. I hope that angle dies after this year.

Take a trip through that area of the country and tell me they have recovered already. Simply they haven't.

While I give two pinches less what type of angle the media spins on this.. IMO, it simply gives the folks down there another distraction from the on going struggles to rebuild.

I struggle to sympathize with a lot of the people of New Orleans, who are pig-headedly determined to rebuild the ravaged areas of the city that are below sea level. The Acadians who first settled the city were intelligent people who built their homes on the highlands (if you can call them that) of the delta. Not coincidentally, these areas of town were virtually unaffected by the hurricane. It was the low-lying areas of town -- populated primarily with trailer parks -- that were devastated. I remember watching with bemusement as the helicopters panned over square mile after square mile of ramshackle mobile homes, talking about how people were trying to move back into these vulnerable areas.

It's probable that based sheerly on its topography and climate, New Orleans is too big for its own good. Maybe the city needs to shrink back to a size that doesn't render it so fragile in the face of severe weather disturbances.

While I don't disagree that some parts of the city shouldn't be rebuilt, it still doesn't minimize the loss that they suffered... especially when the city and state governments sold them false hope of being protected by the levy systems and allowed to occupy the area in the first place.

But we could say this about several areas of the country that shouldn't be built upon.. hell the entire part of southern California could be deemed an area like that. Hell.. even La Crosse is a flood plain and has commissioned several studies on the topic.. yet many still choose to call it home.

Simple point is.. it is good for the region down there.. an if you think the lower wards were the only places devastated by the hurricane.. I think you might want to take a trip to the region itself before laying such a level of criticism upon those folks globally.

I make sure to tell my aunt and uncle that just returned on another church mission down there for the past two weeks of donating time to help common folks rebuild that they are wasting their time.. as these are just "pig headed" folks that don't deserve the help in rebuilding their homes.

As someone from the Netherlands, I'm glad that NSD isn't running the show. Lol.

I am extremely happy for the Saints organization. I had one tie to that team and it is Pierre Thomas, I played against him in high school so we are talking way back. He is a free agent walk-on to the NFL and looks like he can play with the best.

Drew Brees is well-deserving of this also. Great player who is always determined to do the best for the team and then himself. I got a little choked up when he had his baby boy up on stage and started crying.

Sean Payton deserves this as well. One thing that I liked about him was he didn't turn away from his gameplan. The guy has got some balls....going for it on 4th and kicking onsides starting the 2nd half.

As for the city of New Orleans, as a community they do deserve it. One thing about sports for me is, I get away from everything when watching them. I don't think about anything other than the game being played. I think thats how the Saints fans are.

WHO DAT?

I'm not sure if I would cheer for the Vikings or not. The Vikings in the SB is just too bizarre of a concept for me to contemplate with any degree of reason. You may as well ask me what I would do if gravity reversed itself, or if everyone on the planet suddenly started experiencing permanent extreme synesthesia.

Apparently it no longer is. For my entire childhood, my father had to pay flood insurance on his mortgage. Then one day a few years ago, we were pronounced no longer in a flood plain. No more insurance required.

Odd.
