Hell....Time or Newsweek had a cover with Bush as Hitler. Nothing is sacred any more.

My point is that the very same people busting nuts on those who voice displeasure with Obama, were active participants in eviscerating the previous Prez. Hypocrisy?

Oh, and for what it is worth, as someone who knows several concentration camp survivors, one of whom was subjected to horrific medical experiments, and all of whom watched loved oned die or be murdered, I find the Hitler/Nazi analogy to be very inappropriate and cruel. It diminishes what these people suffered through, and minimizes the Nazi' atrocities.

Poke fun all you want....make political points.....but some things ARE sacred....and the Holocaust is one of them.

I wasn't poking fun. I simply misunderstood the point you were trying to make. I thought you were implying that the office of the President is sacred, as some conservatives seem to think.

I will admit I am jaded on the Holocaust issue, though. I'm a German major, and that's about all we ever talk about. It gets very wearisome after a while. There are many more things to Germany than that sordid chapter in their history.

I saw a sign in a car window today that made me chuckle and it fits with this subject. The sign read

" Don't blame me I voted for the American"

I loved it

But seeing Obama isn't from the US i guess I'm being racisit 😛
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

This is why I've given up on politics. People argue about the lamest shit, like whether the birth certificate from Hawaii is valid, as if that makes any difference whatsoever when it comes to his actions so far and in the future as POTUS. It's a smear campaign that has jack shit to do with how our country is run.

It's like the GWB National Guard controversy, although that at least reflected GWB's character and means of success. Obama had little to do with his birth other than showing up.

I am not a birther, and find them to be quite puzzling, but I find nothing funny about the idea of a non-citizen being allowed to ascend to the POTUS. The job has requirements, and being a citizen is a big one...it matters.

Lets look at this question...

Obama's father wasn't a US citizen.... no dispute.

His mother is where the question begins, she born a US citizen, however she was 18 when he was born.. but since the law at the time, 52 to 86, you had to be a citizen greater than the age 16 for 5 years. So technically with the law at that time he wasn't an American citizen..

With that said.. anyone born in that time frame to anyone under 21 isn't a US citizen by birth.. including me.

Talk about an law that should have been stricken from the books.. his mother happened to become pregnant before she was 21.. happens all the freaking time.

Back to my point... if the law was changed which standard of citizenship should be applied?

Learned something new today.. I would be ridiculed if I ran for president because of my citizenship.. the only country any of my parents or myself ever knew..

BTW.. I found it ironic that McCain, whom was born in the Panama Canal was the one to lead the charge of Obama citizenship.. being that McCain fended off attempts to disprove his citizenship.

That and it was the republican party that accused when in 1964 they set the prescient with nominee Barry Goldwater in the 60's for the same position, in which he was born in Arizona before it became a US state.
