We knocked out one QB and would probably have done so with the back up if it was anyone but Vick. D looked good, despite it all. LOVED to see all the pressure we generated.

Yes, that was probably the single most encouraging thing about this game. Matthews is obviously our big time pass rusher, but the pressure came from everywhere and not with a huge amount of blitzing. The sack by Raji was my favorite.

That was the worst game I've seen Aaron Rodgers play at least since Tampa Bay last year. It was below par for an NFL QB. Some misfires early in the game and two horrible interceptions, plus he absolutely failed to make a play down the stretch even when he had decent protection.

thank you for posting this before i had to. Rodgers looked a lot like he did early last season and I really hope he doesn't continue it past this week.

I wonder how much of Aaron's performance was on off day, and how much of it resulted from the shaky play up-front early in the game.

It looked like he just could not find any rhythm out there today.

"Greg C." wrote:

Yeah, the early pressure threw him off, but the line did settle down as the game went on, and Rodgers failed to take advantage of the extra time he had back there. It was a very uncharacteristic performance by him. I expect him to bounce back strong. As Cheesey said, it's encouraging that the Packers can win (on the road against a pretty good team, I might add) even when Rodgers has a rare off day.

We should probably keep a littler perspective in that we faced on O-line that had not played a snap together in the pre-season, and lost it's starting C in the game.

The front seven was good today, but this isn't exactly a heavyweight O-line we faced today.

Greg,

Have you been using my shampoo? Because it is for guys who want thicker looking hair. Have you? Have You?

It was a freaking win. He did what he had to do, and the first INT was not his fault.

1-0 on the road.

Nuff Said.

It was precisely the fact that Vick was gashing the Packers off the edge that made me so surprised Reid called for a quarterback sneak on 4th down. I expected him to try something like play action or a draw, with Vick dropping back, faking a pass, and then making a dash for it off the edge. Running him into the teeth of the Packers' defensive line made no sense to me.

I am glad we won, but unhappy with many aspects of our team. I'm not being a prick about it, but that performance was "off", imo.

I'm still not sure I buy the "slipped" explanation for that second interception. Frankly, it looked like too good a pass. It's like he was doing that "hit the basket" trick, and was dead on ... and then whatever he was aiming at disappeared down a wormhole and the other team's guy appeared.

I mean, as a Packer fan, we've seen no shortage of bonehead interceptions over the deep middle over the years. But this pass didn't have the same feel.

I think "wormhole" is at least as good an explanation as "slipped". And I'm sticking by it, no matter what Ari Fleischer or Ben Bernanke might say.

Oh, and to be perfectly fair, I think Daryn Colledge had a reasonably good game.

Excellent point.

Although I think their OC Marty Morneweg calls plays. I, too, was expecting Vick to roll out and try to use his speed to his advantage on the edges.

I thought Nelson did a very good job on KR. If he could break one more tackles on those he might of taken them to the house.

I don't like a starting DB back there on PR though.
