Sure, I miss the drama that Jolly represented, we could replace it with Lynch.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

I'm talking about the character of the guy and not the means of how the Packers went and got him. Though I immediately thought of Rison once I read my post.

I'll go a step further and say there is probably a good chance Green Bay has another Marshawn Lynch like person currently in the locker room.

If this locker room can absorb it and set the guy straight, then I don't see a lot of down side in making the a deal. Again, this is purely based on Jackson struggles. If he goes out and plays well the next two weeks, Green Bay is not going to do much of anything. If he struggles and a drop off is evident, Lynch is probably the most realistic option on the table.

Guess I don't get it, because Robinson was a classy guy from everything I knew of him and about him, until his incident in Atlanta, of course. I'd like some clarification on that, cuz I'm lost.

Lynch was pretty vocal about not wanting to go to Green Bay pre-draft and I believe after the draft. I think it may have been you that quoted him as well, which is why I trusted the words.

I think Lynch is a better talent than Nance, but I'm not all that high on Lynch either. Although, I'd rather a trade for him than Maroney as was mentioned in another thread.

Don't see the point really. Can we wait and see what Jackson brings to the table before calling for his replacement?

Besides, if Green Bay were to do any trading, why settle for Lynch when they could land a better back such as Jonathan Stewart from Carolina?

He clearly said, if Jackson struggles, it's something to consider.

If it wouldn't take anything more than a 5th to get him don't you think the Broncos would have done that deal instead of giving up a 4th for Maroney?

Didn't Patriots give up a 6th plus Maroney for a 4th?

In front of the cameras, yeah Robinson was a class act. But that's not what matters obviously. It's what you do when the cameras aren't on that gets you in trouble. Look, I think it's possible that Robinson was a different person in Green Bay than in Atlanta. My outlook on people is most of them are who they are. But I'm just cynical I guess. What Packer fan don't know, won't hurt em.

In the case of Maroney, Josh McDaniels is familiar with him. He coached him. For that reason, it makes more sense to go and grab Maroney than Lynch. There is no learning curve there to deal with.

As far as Jonathan Stewart. I'm talking about a realistic option with Lynch, who is on the trading block. Stewart would command a lot of value. I think probably a first-round draft choice. Even then, I doubt Carolina has any intent of dealing him.

Lynch is someone the Packers had on their radar before and they tend to revisit those situations when the opportunity arises. My point also isn't to say it will happen, but to say if the Packers make a trade for someone, Lynch seems to be the most realistic player to go and get.

The Packers were very high on Lynch in the 2007 draft if I recall.

Unless someone on the inside, how would someone know that?

A lot of people thought the Packers need at RB was so bad they were clearly going to take a RB. So they linked Lynch with GB. Doesn't mean GB thought he was worth even being drafted.

As far Lynch, HE'S TROUBLE!!!, just like Adam 'Pac-man' Jones... Lynch drove over someone on the sidewalk and then kept driving.... I believe he has gun and drug charges.... do we really want to add trouble to the locker room? I sure as heck don't...

Just because the media said he was on the Packers radar doesn't mean he was... Lynch doesn't seem realistic because it doesn't seem realistic to bring in a known trouble maker.

This is like saying bring in Adam 'Pac-man' Jones.

Has Lynch's stock fallen so far that he could be had for a fifth round pick? If so, that would make it interesting, although the character issues are still a problem. The coaches and management would have to do their research and meet with him to see if he might be a good fit for the Packers. It doesn't seem likely.

I don't think the Eugene Robinson comparison works. As far as I know, Robinson was a good guy and a locker room leader, but then he got caught soliciting a prostitute before the Super Bowl in 1999. Before that, he didn't have a history of bad behavior like Andre Rison or Marshawn Lynch.

You're a good guy until your shenanigans become public. Then you're a troublemaker. Every team has their problem children. That's all I'm saying.

Hey, everything said about Lynch is spot on. You have to consider a couple of things though.

1. Does he help you?

2. Is the locker room strong enough to tolerate him?

If the answer is yes to both, there isn't a lot of risk. Say he comes in and is loud obnoxious lawbreaking idiot. Cut him. Not like you have a lot invested in him. Chances are the pick is probably based on performance value as these things tend to be.

I agree every team has problem players... but that doesn't mean it's smart to out looking for more of them.... and not every team has a Lynch or Pac-man ...

Yes he hurts on the field if the other players can get along with him... but some teenagers also saying cutting their wrist helps them deal with their emotional pain..... but at what cost? (stop cutting your selves please)

The risk is bring in upsets the players by being in trouble and your throwing away a future draft pick...

I rather deal with the emotional pain in another way then cutting or using draft picks on a guy who should be in jail for guns, drugs and running people over in a car.

I agree every team has it's troublemaker, ours for that team was Wayne Simmons, not Eugene Robinson.

We, the public, know about Lynch's issues, we didn't hear anything but good things about Robinson until AFTER he went to the Falcons.

I just don't see how that's pertinent to this discussion at all. I'm trying, but I have failed you.

Excellent point about McDaniels and Maroney, I didn't consider that fact.

Hawk for Lynch kind of makes sense, but I'm thinking Bishop for Lynch is more likely.
