It'd nice to have a running game that could consistently easily pick up 3rd and 1 3rd and 2. Being forced to pass in that situation can get annoying.

Would like to be able to say "3rd and 2 meh lets punch this in and get back to work" we are consistently stuffed in those situations.

The Packers were pretty effective running the ball. Grant averaged 4.2 per and Starks averaged 4.3. They just didn't run it very often.

The top 2 backs for the 49ers had the same averages as the top 2 for the Packers and they were considered a dominating running team.

The Packers running game was as effective as the 49ers but our passing game was phenomenal. So by comparison it looked fairly weak.

One thing that would make our running game look a lot better is if we had a passing game as bad as the 49ers.

I'll pass on that.

Sorry about the Pun, I couldn't resist.

Did you watch Aaron Rodgers last season? Seriously, who the hell is gonna give more credence to the run over him throwing it? lol

Marshawn Lynch would have been nice.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

I like Lynch, just don't think the position ranks high in priorities for the Packers.

3/4/2012: Signed a four-year, $31 million contract. The deal contains $17 million guaranteed, including a $6 milling signing bonus and all of Lynch's first- and second-year base salaries. Another $1 million is available through incentives in the final two years based on 1,500-yard rushing seasons.
2012: $4 million,
2013: $7 million,
2014: $5 million (+ $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses),
2015: $5.5 million (+ $2 million in per-game roster bonuses),

GB's 2011 4th round pick went to Denver in a package with their 7th for Denver's 5th & 6th. GB selected DJ Williams and DJ Smith.
Gb's 2012 5th round pick was traded to NE and then traded back to GB. They selected Terrell Manning.

Rios39 is right.
It would be great to have a running game that could routinely pick up 3rd and 1.
Not HAVING to pass, but being able to use a fake handoff for a big gain would be sweet. But if the D doesn't respect the run, you can't fool them.

Bart Starr used to do that ALL the time. Play action on 3rd and one, and usually got a big gain.
