To be fair they did come up with a 4th down stop on that last TD drive the Chiefs had.

More like #Refplosion or maybe #RefBLOWSion would be better on the last two drives! An obviously clean hit that set them up for a score and then an obviously short 4th down play that should have turned the ball back over. Those last points made the score look better, but the defense ran roughshod on them all game long. Very happy with the game plan called and the amount of pressure we saw! Will be interesting to see if they if they can finally get the better of Kaperdick next week, he's definitely showing signs of weakness and is more turnover prone than he looked previously. Hope we rattle his ass! REVENGE GAME 2!!!!!!!

Implosion?

Really ?

The other team is paid to play also,

This is still preseason football.

Today's NFL is all about scoring points,

Anyone who thinks The Packers are going to shut down their opponents for the whole game is going to be real dissapointed.

I see some of you are.

Try to enjoy the rest of the season.

3-0 BABY!

ON TO SAN FRAN TO KICK SOME ASS!!!!!!!

Such a tired old whine from the negative extreme. Yawn. Packers aren't perfect every snap of every game. Wahhh

A little known fact to anyone who watches football is a defense with a huge lead is going to allow the middle of the field open because if it is caught, the clock continues to run. You don't let the edges open because going out of bounds kills the clock and saves the enemy time. Desperate teams are going to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you when you have them on the ropes.

Totally. Honestly, and I know no fan wants to hear this, but with that lead, I think they were doing some evaluating on defense. There were quality reps there for a couple guys. In the NFL, it is trial by fire.

From what I recall, the Pack were actually trying too hard to crush the Chiefs. They continued a blitz heavy scheme in the second half until they got burnt one too many times and then backed off. My assumption is the Dom was thinking it worked well in the first half so lets continue with what is working. Credit to the Chiefs for adjusting their offense to get the ball out quick and take advantage of the approach which required the pack to back off on the pass rush.

Compensation and Scheming is what Capers does, and if he didn't, we'd have a lot of problems with our D more than what we have now. The fact that the Chiefs came back a little bit toward the end - hardly an implosion - was due on the D side to playing too soft almost a prevent type D - allowing them to march down the field, but to take what was it, 18 or 19 plays to score? And even that wouldn't have happened if not for the poor spot on the 4th down play and no timeouts left to challenge it. Yeah, we continued to blitz - because it was necessary to get pressure on Smith. The other reason for their slight comeback was that Smith suddenly started to play a lot better. The other other aspect, which I didn't like, was overly cautious play calling when we got the ball back running it twice into the line, leaving pressure to convert on 3rd and long. Arguably, when you have Aaron Rodgers, trust him to complete short passes, get first downs, and keep the clock running that way - but that hyper-caution took time off the clock, and we WON - who could ask for more than that?

The defense played the second 1/2 especially the 4th qtr. like a preseason game. Putting our youth in the game to get experience. This is how this team year after year can remain one of the youngest teams in the NFL and still be one of the best teams yearly.

Winning and putting up pretty defensive numbers looks good on paper, winning and getting our depth experience looks good later on when that depth is really needed.

I think we are in agreement on the game though 🙂
