I'm still hearing how Matty Ice should get the MVP because Rodgers was playing bad. Here is some stats to shed some light on that theory.

In the Packers 6 loses. Rodgers stats averaged.
295.3 ypg, 64.5% completion, 2.3TD/game, 0.833Int/game.

In comparison in Atlanta's 5 loses Matty Ice averaged.
301.2 ypg, 63.7% completion, 1.6TD/game, 0.8int/game.

That doesn't take into account that Rodgers also had 2 rushing TDs and 199 rushing yards in those games. Matty had 43 yards 0Tds.

Looks to me that in their loses, Rodgers was still a better QB.

I'm going to say NO for Aaron Rodgers MVP only because the Super Bowl winner rarely has the MVP on it's roster. It's obviously not a determining factor in the Super Bowl. It's just how it seems to have fallen the last decade and half.

Of the last 25 Super Bowl Champions, only five of them had the NFL's MVP on their roster and the last time was 1999.

1995 49ers, Steve Young
1994 Cowboys, Emmitt Smith

Ryan played very well. 17-23 and no INTs? Bad fumble and terrible block attempt by Freeman really changed things for him but I agree being announced MVP aren't good for the intangibles.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
