True Yoop....he can only do so much. With little protection, and NO running game, he's doing all he can.

Just a little follow up.

There are no hot reads in football when getting rushed with 4 dlineman.

Rodgers is not the problem her folks.
He is one of the few bright spots we have on this team.

Now that i mentioned "TEAM", until, he has a team around him how can you expect much more out of the guy!!

I noticed that the paclers were driving down the field really well on the first possesion this Monday by exploiting quick plays and ump offs. They then seemed to abandon this appraoch for most of teh game. Somone wisley pointed out that the queens might be using a press coverage and forcing rodgers to hold on to the ball longer.

Another point. I don't see too many audibles from him at the line. I occasionaly see him point out a blitz or tell an offensive lineman to watch something.

How often does Rodgers audible? Is he even allowed to yet?

Audibles in the WCO are pretty unseen. It is either a check from run/pass or the other way around. Or to another play in the same formation. In order to know if an audible is actually run, you would have to know the first call, then see what play was actually run.

Only people that truely know are the coaches.

The noise in that godawful dome limited their ability to audible as well, I think, not to mention limited their ability to mix up the snap count, which was part of the reason Allen etc. were getting such good jumps.

Said it before and I'll say it again.

Rodgers impressed me Monday night. The most impressive games he's played IMO have been vs. Atlanta, vs. Carolina and last night at Minnesota.

All losses....

If the line can just be even average as I said in another thread, this Rodgers holds the ball too long stuff will disappear fast.

If you watch ARod, it is clear that he is at fault for some of the sacks that have taken place, for instance when hillbilly jared allen gets the safety on him, or when he got sacked another time that he held onto the ball for about 7 seconds. as an offensive lineman, their job is to keep the quarterback from getting hit for a minimum of 3 seconds. now lets look at who is o-line is. his left tackle was a 3rd stringer, allen was eating him up. ARod should be able to look at this and say to himself "well i have the best receiving core in the game, so if they can't get free, maybe instead of holding the ball and waiting for it, i can scramble around and pick up an extra first down with my feet every once in awhile instead of getting sacked 8 times." i think that the line is by far to blame for the sacks, but he also holds the ball too long at times.

Well Imagine this if Favre was with the Packers and with that Offensive Line. You think Favre would still be healthy enough to play? I really don't think so, at times Rodgers has held the ball to long but the problem is the O Line. Rodgers is a mobile QB if he wasn't that I think the sack number would be 25 or 30 by now.

Kingdom - I've actually been watching Vikings games. I've followed Favre when he went to the Jets and I'm following him on the Vikings.

Favre won't be injured. The reason, he KNOWS when he's going down and goes down with the sack. It's like if you punched me in the stomach and I exhale right before the punch. Still hurts, but I'm not going down.

Favre's release is fast. He knows exactly when the pocket is collapsing and he either gets rid of it or takes the sack. Notice his fumble total. I think it's 0.

As for Rodgers, Rodgers has a high IQ. He's going to figure it out. In time, he'll have the pocket awareness of Favre. Rodgers is also a lot tougher than people give him credit for. He's got a chip on his shoulder, and in his case, it's a good thing.

I'm sold on Rodgers. We just need to fix this OL and I think we can be a very good team.

I believe the number is something like 19 for the number of pressures that was put on Rodgers, on 37 pass attempts. 51% of the time, Rodgers was sacked, hit or knocked down. You can't pick and choose. If Rodgers starts throwing the ball away, it will not be on those few sacks, it will be on a good portion of those pressures. Not only will that, he will be getting rid of the ball sooner, which more than likely will lead to more INTs, and a much worse completion percentage.

Try to remember back to when Favre was in his first few years. There was constantly talk about him holding onto the ball to long, trying to make things happen. And guess what. That never changed. Only 1 year in the 90's did Brett have under 30 sacks. Brett's sack average did not drop until 2001.

Think we need to give Rodgers the same slack that was given Brett.
