I'm forming a hatred towards the 49ers that rivals what festered with the 90's and Cowboys.
Starting 2012 with a loss to the 49ers and capping it with a playoff loss and then repeating the same damn thing in 2013 ... UGHHHHHH!!!
Why be hopeful? Another year of draft picks. Another year of insane amount of injuries. Another year of cute offensive play calls by McCarthy. Another year of Capers defense getting torched up and down the middle of the field because for some damn reason his defense NEVER accounts for the BIG WIDE AREA BY THE HASHMARKS!!
Without big changes, 2014 won't be much different.

The secondary got better at the later part of the season, but they still cannot fix the middle of the field as you mentioned. I am not pro coaching staff, but to me this would be a big area of concern. There are a few ways to take away the middle of the field - Dom should know this. Capers will probably be kept, so hopefully his schemes get better or he is given the missing pieces via free agency or early picks.
I'm not done... onward to Mike. While I don't HATE Mike McCarthy - I do see some negatives that make me question him. Trying to run with Cobb on first and goal - why tell the other team what you are going to do - waste of a crucial down. Running on first every time you get the ball - this only stops after repeated 3 and outs. I get that we have a running game now, but that is no reason to be predictable. Remember the Giants game - JPP knew the call before they even lined up.
Ted has done some good and bad things for this team. He usually finds a few jems in the draft, but he almost treats the free agent market like it is nuclear waste. Some veteran blood could be what we need. It seems every year we are just a couple guys away from being "there."
Until the conditioning staff is sent packing, I fear that injury hell will be the norm for this team. I shake my head when the injury report comes out and I see "hamstring" listed multiple times on a weekly basis. Unacceptable is an understatement.
Why do I feel so negative right now? Because I don't see these issues being fixed. I don't see Mike or Dom making any major changes, and I don't see Ted venturing off to FA to find those guys we are missing. This is not a knee-jerk reaction to the game, just a list of things I think need to improve.
