Vernon Davis is no longer the headcase he was in his early years. A friend of mine actually hangs out with him quite a bit because they're working together on some community service project here in San Jose. The Washington signing shocked him because VD wanted to actually stay in the west coast.

Vernon Davis is done. I would rather have Richard Rodgers starting than waste a snap on Davis. The answer is Cook by default.

He appeared to be done in 2014, but got the benefit of the doubt, because of the QB situation in SF. He then didn't show anything in 2015 with either the 49ers or the Broncos. He wasn't even the starter for Denver in the last couple of games.

I agree that Cook was the better signing, easily. Even at $1.5 million more.

But he's no where near his prime anymore.
So Cook, for sure.
