NEW YORK -- Michael Vick was conditionally reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday and could play in regular season games as early as October.

Vick can immediately participate in preseason practices, workouts and meetings and can play in the final two preseason games -- if he can find a team that will sign him. A number of teams have already said they would not.

Once the season begins, Vick may participate in all team activities except games, and Goodell said he would consider Vick for full reinstatement by Week 6 (Oct. 18-19).

There are people pissed off about his conditional reinstatement length. T.O. is mad that he's getting one, and others (mostly fans) are mad that he's not getting more penalties.

I think Goodell is right on the spot with this one.

It'll be really interesting to see if Vick gets signed, and by whom.

I don't think it's right. First off how many times is Goodell going to suspend Vick? If you forget he was suspended before he even went to trial by Col. Klink, he is suspended for 2 years and then he tries to come back and they are talking about suspending him again. I guess the Commish is above the Federal law.

He did his time and deserves to have his 2nd chance.

I wonder if Jolly will get suspended before his court date and then again after the verdict is given.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Can you imagine the uproar from the voting populace in MN if this organization brought him in?

Dude is damaged goods and the people (Non Sports Fans) of MN wouldn't stand for it and the Zygmiester would never get a stadium deal done.

I think this is just the road the Vikes need to go down. What have their current attempts at getting a stadium by being nice gotten them? Nothing.

It's time to go WWE and play the heel. Take a hint from Brock Lesnar and give the fans the one finger salute. Bring in the most hated rival QB in franchise history and proclaim him your savior. Sign a guy that just got out of prison. Instead of acting all neighborly and having a code-of-conduct, threaten non-stop boat cruises and general pole-swinging misbehavior by your players until you get what you want.

Michael Vick could be a leader on that team.

Don't know which team will sign Michael Vick, but here's the teams that won't: Redskins, Raiders, Seahawks, 49ers.

For godsake, man, I don't mind your honest disagreements, but it drives me nuts when you make illogical, inflammatory statements like this one, which is simply indefensible from any angle. Your implication that Vick is getting some sort of raw deal or is suffering double jeopardy holds no water. The NFL's punitive system is entirely independent of the civil and criminal justice system. Any employer in this country is free to impose any sanctions above and beyond those levied by the court system if it feels necessary. I'm in the army. If I commit a crime punishable in the civilian courts, the military can still choose to prosecute me under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and punish me a second time. The NFL does not answer to the courts for infractions against its personnel policies, nor should it.

He did his time and deserves to have his 2nd chance.

This statement illustrates another of my pet peeves with the maudlin platitudes of modern Americana. To "deserve" something means you have earned it, that you merit it, and Vick clearly has not "earned" or "merited" a second chance. Hell, he only pleaded guilty when every other possible alternative was lost to him due to his own pig-headed refusal to roll on his buddies. Serving time in the slammer doesn't earn you any brownie points in my book.

Society and the NFL may be gracious and grant him a second chance out of the goodness of their hearts (or a mercenary desire to profit off his talent), but he clearly has done nothing to deserve this second chance. The best you can argue is that Vick is somehow entitled to a second chance, in the same sense a homeless crack addict may be entitled to welfare benefits, despite the face he or she clearly doesn't deserve those benefits.

I couldn't care less if Vick is readmitted into the NFL (it might even be fun to see him suit up in purple), but please, enough of this "poor Vick" nonsense. If any team deigns to sign him, he better be eternally grateful for the mercy.

Ok answer the question about Jolly then what if he is convicted of a felony i will bet the farm all you people will be like its not fair he should only get a 2 game suspension. What about Ray Lewis and his murder charges he wasn't run out and i'm glad for that because he is a beast and great to watch.

Well i guess anyone that has done something wrong shouldn't be allowed to do anything after that get fricken real people.
