...As far as deserving certain things by virtue of birthright, etc...

You can take that up with the "big man" upstairs, I'll roll with, "shit happens".

Hell, we get a relatively decent and peaceful society, they get good looking women, awesome fishing, hookers, drugs and all the cheap tequila and cerveza you can guzzle.

Seems like we are the ones getting hosed, in my big-picture, lol

Im sorry the argument about how america was founded on immigrants doesnt wash anymore ... ie america needed colonization back then. Most of the illegals that come here bring nothing to help society with them.

We dont need illegals here to help society. And also the cheap labor argument doesnt work either ... IMO everyone here legally should be paid a fair wage IMO.

Talk about a shit sandwich of a possible topic this is..

Since I have been painted a liberal on here today... lol.. my opinion might be surprising.. I have little issue with the policy.. just firmly believe that it should be applied unilaterally upon all ethnic groups..

Why.. to prevent or try to profiling particular ethnic groups...

I would love to take it a step further to tell you the truth.. implant a validation chip within every citizen.. and use the wifi technology to monitor different points of interest in society.. get caught anywhere without the proper scan readings.. you are detained to clear the matter.

The hell with privacy.. it is for the good of the country.

The Chinese have sure nipped their immigration issues in the bud.

You see, when the dear leader had trouble feeding the populace, they had a bad habit of fleeing North Korea and heading into China.

The Chinese didn't like that.

They liked to round up the (starving) illegals, then they liked to put them in a nice little line, up to a mile in length, then they would whip out some good 'ol barbed wire, and string it through the noses of the detainees. Then they marched 'em back to the North Korean border.

Cut way back on both repeat offenders and newbies trying to cross.

I would bet that hurts like a bitch. They got caught doing that, but I don't remember any outcry from anyone.

...And we self-flagellate over some ID checks.

Priveledge has as much to do with what you are given, and what you are willing to give. The Judeo/Christian principles upon which our nation was founded...and no, I am not a Goddy....has allowed this nation to harness its resources for the betterment of its citizens, and up until the last half century, a government that worked towards that end as well. And now, you have Africa. Given much, but having given little back, it is governed by criminals and murderers and its bounty plundered for but a select few, while the masses exist in squalor and, in many cases, die young after tortured lives.

Yeah....I stand by my statement that much of this world is rather primitive. Somewhat mirrors the whole rights/responsibilities arguement. Everyone claims their rights, but wish to bear no responsibility. Well, no culture/nation/continent will ever prosper when drowning in tribal strife. At some point, people need to quit acting like street gangs and move forward for a unified cause, such as a civilized nation.

I don't know if we can assume that it is the Judeo/Christian principles that separates us from what are being called more primitive cultures. First off, I'm assuming you're labeling it "Judeo/Christian" to differentiate it from Islam. Those three religions have the same foundation, so you would have to explain what it is implicit in the teachings of Judaism and Christianity that promote civility while Islam promotes barbarism.

There aren't many alternative belief systems around (i.e. small tribal cultures), mainly because they've all been wiped out. Does that make them less civil? I don't know. The Native Americans were "primitive", sure, in the way that they existed in small tribal communities, maintained the natural resources around them, and didn't exactly believe in a state of land ownership like we do, but they had to sort of make way for us and our more civilized culture.

I have written about this bill rather extensively elsewhere, so when I get some time, I'll collect my various scribblings and post them here.

In brief, while I oppose this law on libertarian philosophical grounds, I am equally, if not more, opposed to the gross mischaracterization of this law by its (blatantly hypocritical) opponents. Unlike most of the people fulminating, boycotting, and marching, I've actually read the law, and it is very carefully written to prevent the same things it's accused of. Nowhere in its text do the words "Hispanic," "Mexican," or "Spanish" appear, much less phrases like "dark hair" or "brown skin." It applies just as equally to illegal Irishmen as illegal Mexicans.

I can't speak for Arizona. Only California.

Here, wherever the illegals are, the schools suck. Why? Because illegals don't give a flying fuck about education. They end up ruining morale to the point that people who can afford to move elsewhere and the schools deteriorate.

We intentionally live in a school district that has priced out illegals. Yes, they're public schools. We found a place to rent that is within the district but is too expensive for illegals. Low crime too. It's pretty nice. For those Americans who can't afford to do that, my deepest condolences. Seriously. I mean it.

Illegals suck. They goof off in school, join gangs and get pregnant, crime goes through the roof, etc. Don't argue about it with me though. Read up on the statistics. They tell a story uglier than I can.

And no. I'm not white. But I'm a realist. I just wish Californians had the balls to pass the same law Arizona did. And yes, like Nonstop, I read it too. It's not racist, despite what La Raza (which means THE RACE) wants you to believe. There is NO mention of race in that law.

As long as it's enforced correctly, I'm 100% for it. The good definitely out weighs the bad.

Imagine this:

Its game day at Lambeau, and no one protecting the gates/entrances. Then after the stadium fills up to capacity, security goes around making sure everyone has a ticket. Wouldn't that be ridiculously stupid?

Well, thats exactly what the government is doing here with the borders. No one is protecting the borders, and as a result, there are millions of people in the country that aren't accounted for, using up resources, and not paying taxes.

Problem: Too many illegal immigrants unaccounted for.

Solution: Protect the borders.

The end. Lock the thread.
