Brandon Marshall signs contract tender from Broncos; could trade be in the works?

Restricted free agent Brandon Marshall signed his contract tender from the Denver Broncos on Tuesday, ESPN and the Denver Post reported.

The move could clear the way for the team to trade him. Marshall's contract tender calls for him to earn $2.5 million next season. Any team that signed him to an offer sheet would have had to surrender a first-round pick to the Broncos as compensation.

But with Marshall, who was expected to speak with Broncos officials on Tuesday, now under contract, Denver could ship him to another team.

Rodgers throwing to Jennings, Marshall, Nelson, and Finley for the next 10 years. Dfoster wouldn't even need his Viagra anymore.

Every year Thompson does at least one thing that his detractors swear he won't do, so I'm looking forward to seeing how many aces he's got hidden up his sleeve this year. If one of them is Brandon Marshall, I will be thrilled. If another is Brian Westbrook, I'll be washing the stains out of my pants.

This trade is very unlikely, but man....

I know that, if we could get that one the field, I'd cringe every time that Grant has more than 20 carries per game. That offense asks for a more Indianapolis-, Patriots-like approach.

That offense would shatter Packers' offensive scoring and passing records and could conceivably contend for all-time NFL records too. Ryan Grant might break 1500 yards with such an offense, since it would be virtually impossible to stack the box against him without opening up major passing lanes all the way down the field.

I am going to sit here very quietly with my keyboard on my lap until my prominent woodie subsides.

I just went and did some lurking at Chatters and Joe posted that our trade won't be happening because apparently Seattle is willing to give up the 14th overall for Marshall and an undisclosed 2011 pick from Denver.

We actually would have more ammo than Seattle, but I don't see us offering more than Jones and a second. Now if you threw in AJ or Barnett, I think it could happen, but that is too steep.

Back to the O-line, dback draft conversation. Sorry to piss on the Cheerios boys.

Maybe I am stubborn, but I'd much rather see a Nelson up there. I really think he has a lot to offer, size, speed, and hands. Nobody else believes that Jordy could be a special player in the league? He really started to look good after the injury last year, and I also think he was a boost to the Special Teams.

I believe, but you forgot his best attribute, downfield blocking. Big plays always start with good blocking by receivers.

Amazing. I wake up only to find out that he's most likely going to Miami...

Filed to ESPN: Brandon Marshall is going to be traded to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round pick this year and another pick next year.

dfosterf (11h) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round

beast (2-Aug) : I believe it's technically against the CBA rules, but Jerry just calls it a simple unofficial chat... and somehow gets away with it.
beast (2-Aug) : Jerry Jones is infamous for ̶n̶e̶g̶o̶t̶i̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ chatting with players one on one... and going around the agent.
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Oo just saw a blurb saying that Dallas negotiated directly with Parsons and not through his agent
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : I assumed that both guys will get paid, just a matter of when or how we get there
Zero2Cool (1-Aug) : McLaurin nor Micah going anywhere. They will get money

Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : Turns 30 this September, plays at a high level and Washington has some cap space I believe
Mucky Tundra (1-Aug) : More interesting is Washington with Terry McLaurin

Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Site will die, I have to restart it.
Zero2Cool (30-Jul) : Quinn stinks. Lot of underthrows. (my guess)
