Packers Sign S Peprah, Release TE Frischknecht

The Green Bay Packers have signed S Charlie Peprah and released TE Devin Frischknecht. The transactions were announced Monday by Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations Ted Thompson.

Peprah, a fifth-year player, spent three previous seasons (2006-08) in Green Bay and appeared in 37 games for the Packers. He appeared in two games for Atlanta in 2009.

Frischknecht spent the 2009 season on injured reserve after signing with the Packers as a non-drafted free agent last summer.

Getting the old band back together. I'm pretty sure that Rouse is still out there. Cory Rodgers just got cut in Canada.

No, Peprah's good. He knows what he's doing out there. We could have really used him towards the end of last year. He's a S, not a CB, but if one of our guys go down, I want him out there over Bush or even Blackmon, Bell or any of those guys. Peprah isn't a scrub.

Why do people have a problem with Peprah? He represents decent depth. I'm confused.
