Rodgers is a good quarterback. All he has to do now is get the ball out after taking a MAX of 5 steps.

Once he does that efficiently, there will be nobody worried.

He's playing with a separated shoulder for damn's sake.

C'mon, let's be real. It's a strain/sprain shoulder.

I didn't see him grimace in pain at all during the live game or when making the highlight video. So, that is good. I bet he practices Weds.

Is "Roddy" on the board???
LOLOLOL!!!
Thats just a bunch of crap.........thats the way i see it.
Who would even say that, even if they felt that way? When you are supposed to back the guys at the top, unless they are complete idiots like Matt Millen. Ted Thompson is NOT Millen. And Rodgers is doing the best ANYONE could do with what he's had to work with.

I agree that Rodgers hasn't been the problem. I'm going to guess this stems more from the PR side of not taking Favre back when the opportunity presented itself, and now Favre is playing well in NY proving he clearly wasn't done. In that regard, some on the board could see Rodgers as Ted's man and want him gone just to spite Ted.

If this is true then these board of directors need to look at what's happened in Oakland. When non-football people get involved with football making decisions it can cripple a franchise for decades.

This board of directors is BS, Ted Thompson and MM have made their decision, firing them and getting rid of a franchise QB won't bring Brett back. People just need to get over this, including people who are supposed to be worring about everything but the decisions made on the field.

When you lose a couple games... the slugs crawl back out from underneath the rocks.. someone is digging up a stir.. remember where PF Weekly's home is.. Chitown.. what better way to cause issues.. find someone that will complain..

This same board backed Ted's play this offseason.. I have a hard time believing that endorsement is crumbling after 5 games.. or 6 if this was released this afternoon..

In regards to all parties, I think the trade worked.. Brett, Aaron, Chad and their respective teams.

I had no idea we had that many people on the board, and with that many people I'd be shocked if the board was unanimous in supporting Thompson's decision. I'd be willing to wager some portion of them conditionally backed it if GB took the next step this year but made it clear that if they regressed someone's ass would be on the line. The bottom line is this team just missed the Super Bowl last year. We had the opportunity to bring back our franchise QB and didn't. That gamble better pay off this year, not five years down the road, or there are going to be some people on the board wanting answers whether that's right or wrong. That's how business works. Bosses don't give a damn about your five year plan when there are glaring problems right now.

Don't disagree there Wiskey, that there is a board member or few that are stewed because of the direction.. it was a huge gamble for this franchise. No doubt.. but if you took a vote today, I would have a hard time believing that it would be swayed after such a small sampling of game, where other than holding the ball too long, Rodgers has played very well..

If they are pissed at Ted it should be for not addressing the talent along the oline or roster makeup within the Dline. 3 full time DT? Are you kidding me. Another gamble is banking on Harrell making an impact after recovering from back surgery. Not for the decision to play Rodgers, not much more he can do to help this team.

I agree with you. I can't make sense of Rodgers being gone short of someone holding a grudge about the Favre deal. That makes no sense from a football standpoint. The rest of it, I can understand.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
